You wake up and get out of bed, stretching your arms and legs. Your body is tired and sore from yesterday's training and mission. Your outfit from yesterday is dirty, so you put on some casual clothes. You open your door and go into Crosshair's room.
"What is it?" He asks.
He has a toothpick in his mouth. You've always wondered where he gets them from.
"What was it like? The Empire, I mean." You respond.
He looks away from you. "It wasn't terrible. I was following orders, and I was Commander. My service to the Empire was appreciated."
You look at the scars on the side of his head. "But what about..."
"On Bracca, the reactor was turned on..." He begins. "It burned the right side of my head."
You sit down next to him. "Crosshair... I'm so sorry."
He sighs. "It's fine. Really. There wasn't much you could do."
You hug him and he looks surprised.
"Also, I'm... proud of you. For dealing with all of this. With Omega, and not having Dara around for so long." He tells you.
"R-Really?" You ask.
Crosshair has always had a sort of icy demeanor. He has always loved you and considered you his niece, but he never has said anything like this. You've been the least close with him all these years, especially because he joined the Empire.
"Of course." He continues. "I don't lie."
Tech calls your name, so you leave Crosshair's room and go into the main hull of the ship.
"I was about to have a flying lesson with Omega. Would you like to join?" Tech asks.
"I'd love to." You respond.
You sit in Tech's seat. This time, he seems more relaxed now that you're on Ord Mantell.
"Alright, you two. Continue flying straight." Tech instructs.
Crosshair walks into the main area of the ship. He sees you two flying.
"I see your flying skills have vastly improved since I was last here." He says to you.
"Yeah!" You smile.
He smirks. "And Tech, you've become less of a backseat pilot."
Tech frowns. "They haven't memorized the ship manuals yet."
"I've seen Imperial pilots fly worse than this. They won't crash." Crosshair says, rolling his eyes.
Tech plugs in some coordinates. "The destination I put in isn't that far away. Head there. You can turn the thrusters on, but only slightly."
Omega does as he says and the ship moves faster.
"That was much smoother. Good job, Omega." Tech says.
Hunter walks over and smiles. "So you're going to be a Jedi and a pilot. What other titles should I add next?"
You look back at him and smile back.
"Stay focused on the destination, Y/N." Tech reminds you.
"Yeah, the ship will go where you look." Hunter says.
"That doesn't make since..." Omega starts. "She's looking backwards."
"You get what I mean." Hunter replies.
You reach the coordinates Tech plugged into the navigation.
"Good job. Let's do another one." Tech says, pressing some buttons on the panel.
Tech lands the ship near Ord Mantell at your usual spot. You hear what sounds like Echo talking to someone in his room. You can pick up bits and pieces of the conversation.
"Yeah. Head to Ord Mantell. I'll be ready." You hear Echo say.
"Alright. I'll be there later today." You hear a voice say.
It sounds like Captain Rex. You've met him when you were younger since he's a good friend of Hunter's. Echo opens the door and looks surprised to see you.
"Oh. Hey, Y/N." He says, starting to walk past you.
"Y-You're leaving us?" You ask.
He bends down and puts his hand on your shoulder. "Of course not. I'm just doing a small mission with Rex to rescue a clone."
"But... you'll be back, right?" You ask.
"Why wouldn't I be? And why are you so worried about me not coming back?" Echo asks, concerned.
"I just... Mom left, and Crosshair left, and now you're leaving." You tell him.
"Well, both of them came back, didn't they? Besides, I'm only going to be gone for a few days." He reassures you.
"Just... don't get hurt." You hug him.
"I won't." He says.
You all enter Cid's Cantina once again. You recognize everyone sitting at the bar or at the tables since you've been here so many times. Echo gathers everyone together and you sit down at a table.
"Rex needs me for a mission. Just for a few days." Echo explains.
"You can't leave, Echo... We're all finally together." Omega says, a sad look on her face.
"I already told Y/N this. I'll come back. I won't be able to have my comms on, though." He explains.
You all follow him outside where Rex is waiting. He walks over to all of you.
"Y/N. I feel like you've grown since the last time I saw you." Rex says, smiling.
"Good luck on your mission." Hunter says, shaking his hand.
Omega gives Echo a hug, and you give him one last one before he leaves.
"Don't have too much fun without me." Echo jokes.
He gets on the ship and all of you watch him go.
"Do we really need him back?" Crosshair laughs.
"Crosshair..." You and Omega say in unison.
The rest of you walk back into Cid's office to get another job. You've been doing pretty well with your financial situation, but it's still good to have a steady flow of credits from jobs.
"Can we get something not on an Imperial planet?" Hunter asks.
"Yeah, I'm sick of fighting clones." You add.
"Yeah, yeah. Here. It's a remote planet in the Outer Rim." Cid says.
"Which planet?" Tech asks.
"Scipio. I'll warn you, it's cold there." Cid replies.
"Scipio..." You repeat. "I've never heard of it."
"It should be safe for you rogue clones and Jedi." Cid says.
"Good." Hunter says.
You all exit her office.
Once you get on the ship, you're ready for the long flight there since it's in the Outer Rim.
"Want to play Dejarik?" Omega asks.
"Sure." You respond.
As you get the board set up, you see Crosshair standing in the corner. He watches you two begin to play. You see him smile for a minute, but stop when you catch him.
As Omega takes her turn, she says, "It'll be really nice to not have to worry about the Empire on this mission."
"Definitely." You agree, moving your piece to eventually knock over hers.
Omega pauses for a moment to think before taking her next turn. You can tell that she's probably learned some strategies from Tech. You've seen her play Dejarik with Cid, too. She presses a button on her side to move a piece of hers towards you. On your turn, you move your previous piece towards hers to get rid of it.
"Aww..." She sighs. "Good play, though."
You notice that Echo is gone, and you feel a little sad.
"Do you think Echo is okay?" You say.
Crosshair walks over. "He's fine. Echo is resilient. He can do a simple mission."
"He's right, Y/N." Wrecker says. "He'll be back before we know it. Then, we'll tell him all about our mission!"
"Yeah, it's just weird without him here." You say.
You see your parents talking to each other and smiling. It's nice to see them like this. It feels like you're a complete family, especially when Echo is there, too.
Once Tech starts to make the descent on Scipio, you feel some turbulence. When you look out the ship window, the sky looks clear, but the planet looks very cold. There's a lot of wind, so you see Tech firmly gripping the yolk to steer the ship.
"Y-Y/N, can you press t-that button there?" Tech says, his words broken from the bumpiness of the ship.
You run over to the cockpit and press the top button. It makes the wings fold up so you can land.
"Do y-you need help?" You ask.
"Just sit... just in c-case." Tech responds.
Tech lands the ship very smoothly. It's impressive considering the conditions on the planet.
Dara walks over to you and Omega. "Y/N, Omega, go get some layers on. It's going to be cold out there."
You and Omega go into your rooms and get a lot of layers. You don't want to be miserable during the mission. When you walk back into the main hull of the ship, you have so many layers on. It feels weird to layer so many clothes on top of each other. Crosshair snickers when he sees you.
"What?" You say. "I'm not the one who's going to be freezing in armor and light clothes."
Everyone goes and gets layers to put on top of their armor.
You all step out onto the snowy planet of Scipio. The cold wind blows into your face.
"What exactly are we looking for here?" Crosshair asks.
"We'll head North. We're in search for some sort of treasure, according to Cid." Tech explains.
"I bet Phee would've liked to be on this mission." Hunter says.
It starts to snow. Tech told you that the weather isn't usually like this.
"My signal isn't good out here. The weather must be interfering with my map." Tech says.
Hunter bends down and touches the ground. You can tell that he's trying to track where you're supposed to go.
"We'll have to do it the old fashioned way." Hunter says.
You all follow Hunter's lead.
"Is it an old ship wreck we're looking for? Like that Jedi ship we saw?" You ask.
"Cid just sent us coordinates. She has a tendency not to say exactly what the job is." Hunter replies.
Tech continues to hold up his datapad to try and get a signal. Your toes are hands are getting cold. Dara holds one of your hands and one of Omega's hands. You smile up at her.
"This is the location where the treasure should be." Hunter states, stopping.
Everyone looks around. It's the same exact snowy terrain you've been on for the entire journey.
"I don't see anything." Wrecker says.
Dara ignites her lightsaber. She walks right where Hunter is standing. You all watch as she makes a circle in the ground with her lightsaber. The terrain drops, revealing a hole that leads to an underground passageway.
"Wow..." You marvel.
Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, and Crosshair use their grapping hooks to get down. Dara uses the Force to jump down and land safely. Wrecker tosses a rope up to you and Omega. You use it to carefully get down. You all continue to walk down the passageway until you reach a wall. Tech searches for an alternate way in, but there doesn't appear to be one.
"Y/N? Want to do the honors?" Dara asks.
You nod and ignite your lightsaber. It shines brightly in the darkness of the passageway. You make a small circle at first. It's big enough for Omega to get through. You make the circle a lot bigger this time. Everyone is able to duck to get through. On the other side is a golden statue of some sort of lizard creature on on a pedestal. You pick it up. It's really heavy, so you hand it to Wrecker.
"Hm. I can see why Cid likes it. It's a lizard statue, after all." Tech says.
You hold onto Hunter as he uses his grappling hook to get out of the passageway and onto land again. Omega holds onto Wrecker. After everyone gets up, you follow Hunter back to the Marauder. As you approach the ship, you get an idea.
"Wait, Omega! Come here!" You say.
"What is it?" She asks.
You lower your voice. "Let's make a snowman Crosshair."
She giggles. "That's an amazing idea."
You begin to make the base of the snowman while Omega gets the other parts. Once you assemble the body, you begin to make the details. You use spare parts in your pockets for the eyes and mouth.
"Make the eyebrows angry." Omega says, laughing.
"What are you two doing over there?" Hunter asks.
"Nothing!" You say in unison.
Once you get done with the face, you realize something.
"Wait. It's missing something." You say.
You run over to Crosshair. "Crosshair! Give me a toothpick!"
He looks suspicious, but hands you one anyway.
You put the toothpick in the mouth of the snowman.
"Come see!" Omega says, calling everyone over.
Everyone (except Crosshair) starts to laugh.
"I knew you were up to something!" Crosshair says.
