*The food/market character and food in this chapter was inspired by the Galaxy's Edge black spire outpost cookbook!*
You're startled awake as your mother taps on your head.
"We're going." She says, beginning to walk out of your room.
"Where?" You ask groggily.
"Training." She replies.
You both exit the Marauder. The ship is still on the rocky planet from yesterday. You follow her and can see that your mother is walking towards the forest.
"That's far..." You whine, still tired. The sun hasn't even risen yet.
"This is what my master did." Your mother responds.
"Did it work?" You ask.
"For me." She says, shrugging. You finally reach the forest you were in yesterday. Your mother stands against a tree.
"Go to where you stood just before you went to get my lightsaber." She says.
You find it nearby and stand there.
"Now what?" You say.
"Close your eyes." She says.
"Not this again..." You sigh.
"You need to trust me, Y/N." Your mother says.
You close your eyes, waiting for her next instructions.
"Try to think back to what you felt yesterday. Think about all that you saw, felt, and heard." She says.
"I remember Tech and Echo yelling at each other." You say, laughing.
"What else?" She asks.
"I remember seeing you. I saw the big tree branches on you. I was scared." You say.
"Why did you come to me? Why didn't you stay with the others?" She asks.
"I knew it was risky, but I also knew that the fyrnocks would've come closer. Our blasters didn't do anything." You explain.
"How did you feel when you used the lightsaber?" Your mother continues.
"I felt like I could've been hurt at any moment, but I also felt... energy. Some sort of motivation to not worry about what could happen." You tell her.
"Energy, huh?" She says.
You wait for a second as she processes what you said.
"Alright. Open your eyes." Your mother says.
You open them.
"What you remembered was the Force." She says, smiling.
You smile, glad that you're able to start feeling the Force. The sun begins to rise as your mother leads you to a different part of the forest.
"Sit and close your eyes." Your mother tells you.
"Now repeat after me. I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me." She starts.
You continue to repeat after her.
"I think I feel it again." You say.
"Good. Try to maintain that feeling." She says.
You continue to do various exercises with her. You feel like it's getting easier to use the Force.Once you get back, Wrecker walks over to you.
"Where were you?" He asks.
"I was using the Force in the forest over there!" You say.
"Wow..." He says, surprised.
Hunter walks over to you and your mom.
"Hey there, little Jedi." Hunter says with a smile.
"Where are we going next?" Omega asks.
"Ord Mantell." Hunter responds.
"Do you want to do some lightsaber training?" Your mom asks you.
"Yes! Let's go!" You eagerly say, running to her room."Okay. Let's start with the first form." Your mother says, demonstrating the basic form.
She hands you the lightsaber. You ignite it.
"Make sure you're holding it tightly." She says, helping you adjust your fingers.
You finally get it right.
"Give it a little swing." She says, cautioning you.
You do so. It's harder this time since you're in a small room.
"Good. Keep practicing." Your mother says.
You pass the time on the way to Ord Mantell by training. You see Omega look inside the room at one point, then walk away.
"When will I make my own lightsaber?" You ask, your voice filled with excitement.
"We've only been training for a few days. Have patience, Y/N. Your time will come." She says, placing her hand on your shoulder. You all land on Ord Mantell. You walk through the familiar streets to Cid's Cantina. This time, you join Hunter and the others to talk to Cid. You're curious to know what job you'll get.
"I need you to find a criminal in the Black Spire Outpost on Batuu." Cid says, tossing you a puck with the information on it. A hologram of the face of the criminal appears.
"We aren't bounty hunters." Hunter says sternly.
"Do you want the credits or not?" Cid responds, rolling her eyes.
"What's our cut?" Omega asks.
"30%." Cid states.
"That is our usual rate." Tech says.
"Fine. 40%." Cid responds.
"50%. You owe us for winning the pod race." You say, looking up at her.
"Fine. 50%." Cid decides. All of you head onto the ship. Tech sets the ship on course for Batuu.
"I don't like this." Echo says.
"None of us do, but we need the credits." Hunter replies.
You notice a worried look on your mother's face.
"What's wrong?" Hunter asks her.
"I have a feeling that it will be dangerous. I think it's best if I stay behind. I can't risk showing my face." Your mother sighs.
"Alright. We'll have our comms on if you need anything." Hunter reassures her.
The ship lands on a port in Batuu. The Black Spire Outpost is bustling with people. It's midday, and all of you are hungry.
"Will you be okay?" You ask your mother.
"Yes." She smiles. "I have food here, and it's risky for me to come with you."
You hug her and leave the ship. You notice some Imperial troopers around the space port. Everyone has their helmets on. Hunter can see that you're getting nervous.
"It's alright. Just stay close to me." Hunter says.
You walk close to Hunter. You, Hunter, and Omega are in the middle. Tech, Echo, and Wrecker are around you. You point to a market stand that looks like it has food similar to Mantell Mix. Tech sighs as you all walk over to it. He knows you, Wrecker, and Omega will want a lot of whatever this food is.
"What is this?" Omega asks.
A women looks down to her.
"It's my famous kettle corn." She says.
"Really?" You say.
You step back and see the sign of the stand: Kat Saka's Kettle.
"It's a family recipe." She continues.
"We'll have 3 cartons." Hunter says, handing over the credits. You all munch on the kettle corn as you make your way towards the area where the criminal is. You see that the place where the criminal is is in a tavern.
"Stay. Close." Hunter says.
"We will..." You and Omega say.
Tech and Echo sit at the bar.
"It's been a while since I've had a drink." Echo says. He orders two "Coruscant Coolers".
"Do you know a criminal by the name of Luccor Munham?" Hunter asks the bartender.
The bartender leans in and says under his breath, "The back corner. Over there." He points to a table in a dark part of the bar.
"Wrecker. Stay close with the kids." Hunter says.
Wrecker nods. You watch Hunter go over to the criminal at the table. You see Hunter throw the puck on the table, and the hologram appears. Luccor quickly races out of the tavern. Hunter runs after him.
"Stay here!" Wrecker shouts, running after Hunter.
You look over to Tech and Echo.
"What did they... put in here?" Echo says, his words slurring together.
"I assume... the amount of alcohol..." Tech begins.
You groan in frustration as Tech and Echo slowly stumble out the door. You and Omega run to catch up with Hunter and Wrecker. You find Hunter and Wrecker fighting Luccor in an alley. He takes out a dagger and slices into Hunter's leg. Wrecker tries to punch Luccor, but he dodges. He runs to a different alley.
"Omega! Go right! I'll go left." You say.
You see Omega begin to corner him. He runs the other direction, but you cut him off.
"No place to run now." You say.
Hunter and Wrecker catch up to you.
"Nice job." Wrecker says, taking Luccor.
"Where are Tech and Echo?" Hunter asks.
"They had a little too much to drink." Omega says, giggling.
Hunter sighs.
"I'll go get 'em." Wrecker says, handing Luccor over to Hunter. You and Omega walk with him back to the ship. Hunter puts the criminal in Crosshair's old room. Wrecker comes onto the ship with Tech and Echo over his shoulders.
"Did we... get him?" Echo asks.
"Of course..." Tech responds.
You and Omega laugh at the two of them. You would've expected it to be Wrecker who would be acting like this. You sit by Hunter in the ship and fall asleep after a very long day.
