Bad Reputation: A Bad Batch Fanfiction Story

Note: I'll continue this soon! Thank you all for being patient with me. I didn't have time to include everything I wanted in this chapter (squad going somewhere that is mentioned towards the end of the chapter) but I will include it next time. :)

You can sense everyone's stress as you exit the ship on Ord Mantell. All of you enter the familiar parlor, empty handed. Your eyes begin to adjust to the drastic difference in the amount of light. As per usual, Cid's Parlor is dark. Most of the lighting comes from the area where the alcohol is. The same usual customers are at the cantina. AZI sees all of you.
"It is I, AZI-34521-" AZI starts.
Wrecker groans. "We know, AZI." 
"Mistress Cid is not happy." AZI continues.
"Hm. Surprising." Echo says sarcastically.
You all enter Cid's office. She sits at her desk, arms crossed.
"Nothing, huh?" Cid says.
You step closer to her desk. "We had to help a friend."
"I don't care." Cid huffs.
"There was no way we could've done the mission, Cid." Omega says.
"I expected that you wouldn't go on any detours." Cid responds.
"Give us another chance." Hunter pleads. "We've been successful in every mission except this one."
"I don't have another job ready for you, boys. Even if I did, I don't know if I'd give it to you." Cid looks away from all of you.
"We'll be back." Hunter says, starting to leave Cid's office.
Everyone leaves the office except you. 
"Do you know a Jedi named Ahsoka Tano?" You ask.
Cid shakes her head. "No."
You nod and turn around, beginning to exit. 
As you leave, you hear Cid say, "I'd be careful about looking for Jedi if I were you."

You walk through the alleys after exiting the parlor. Hunter looks stressed. You aren't sure how to help him feel better. 
"Can we get some Mantell Mix?" Omega asks quietly. 
Hunter nods. "Yeah. Wrecker, you can take Y/N and Omega."
You and Omega follow Wrecker to the market stall.
"Hunter seems stressed..." You say nervously. "How can we help him?"
"He'll be okay. He's probably just upset that we didn't complete our mission." Wrecker reassures you.
Omega smiles at you. "We can get some extra Mantell Mix for him. It won't solve the problem we're having, but it could help cheer him up!" 
"That's true." You say.
Wrecker orders the Mantell Mix. He hands two of the cartons to you and Omega. 
"What're we going to do now since we don't have a mission right now?" Omega asks.
Wrecker shrugs. "I dunno. Let's ask Hunter."
This could be my chance to research Ahsoka Tano... You think.
Once you get to the ship, you see that Lucian is waiting outside for you. 
"Oooooh!" Wrecker teases. 
"Wrecker..." You whisper, getting embarrassed. 
Wrecker and Omega get on the ship.

"How was the mission?" Lucian asks.
You laugh nervously. "It was certainly something."
Lucian looks confused. "What do you mean?" 
"A friend needed our help. We couldn't do our mission because we had to help him." You explain.
"I bet Cid was upset..." Lucian says.
You nod. "She doesn't have a mission for us."
"What will you do until she gives you another mission?" He asks.
You look around to make sure nobody is around.
Lowering the volume of your voice, you say, "I need to look for a Jedi. She'll be able to tell us about Order 66 and Darth Vader."
"Where do you think she is?" Lucian wonders.
"I don't know yet. I have a feeling she'll be hard to find." You sigh.
Lucian takes one of your hands. "If you end up staying on Ord Mantell while you don't have a mission, let me know. Maybe we can do something."
You smile. "Yeah. That would be fun."
You start to walk up the steps of the ship. 
"Wait, before you go..." Lucian says.
He walks up the steps and gives you a kiss. 
"Bye!" He says, walking down the steps. 
You watch him walk away. 
I wasn't expecting that. You think. 
You try to stop blushing as you enter the ship.

Wrecker and Omega are giggling. 
"Would you two stop it?" You groan.
It looks like Wrecker and Omega already gave Hunter some of the Mantell Mix. He's sitting in one of the chairs in the cockpit. You sit in one of the chairs next to him.
"I'm sorry about the mission." You say.
He looks over at you. "It's not your fault. We tried to help Caleb, and that's what matters. We're doing alright on credits, and Cid will get us another job in a little while."
"Are you sure?" You ask.
Hunter nods. "Of course, kid." 
"What are we going to do for now?" Omega asks.
Hunter smiles and looks over at Crosshair. "I don't think we've taken Crosshair to Pabu yet."
"What's Pabu?" Crosshair asks suspiciously. 
"You'll love it, I promise." Omega says. 
"You'd better be right..." He replies.

Tech sets the course for Pabu. You go to your room and lay on your bed. You wish you could've spent more time with Lucian, but you're also happy that you're going to Pabu. You always feel welcome there. It's a feeling you never really have. You decided to meditate since you haven't in a while. Your mind thinks of Lucian and how you don't get to see him a lot. You hope that one day he can come on one of your missions. You search for an item in the room to lift with the Force to see if you can do that while closing your eyes. You lift up an empty box of rations on the floor in your room. You hold it steady and try to focus all of your energy on it. Suddenly, you get startled by Echo walking in your room. The box of rations falls on the ground, making a clattering noise. 
"I thought you could sense my presence." He laughs.
"I'm working on it..." You respond.
"I didn't realize you were meditating in here. That's my bad. I just wanted to say that I'm proud of you for helping that Jedi kid." Echo says.
"It was nothing, really. We didn't really get to help." You reply.
Echo shakes his head. "No. You did help. You helped him when he was scared, and you did something good. You're a good kid."
You smile. "I guess you're right." 
Echo smiles back and begins to leave so you can resume your training. 
"Hunter and Dara have raised you well." Echo says on his way out.
