When you make it to Ord Mantell, part of you hopes you'll see Lucien again. You try to push that thought away. You make sure that your lightsaber is hidden by your clothes. Echo and Rex are waiting for you. You and Omega run over to Echo and hug him.
"Hey, kids. How was the mission?" Echo asks.
"Y/N fought an inquisitor!" Omega responds.
"Omega, not too loud..." You whisper.
"An inquisitor, huh?" Echo says softly. "You'll have to tell me more when we get back on the ship."
"You should tell us about your mission too!" Omega says eagerly.
"I'm sure Echo would be happy to when you all have the time." Rex smiles.
Everyone enters Cid's cantina. To your surprise, Lucien is there. He lives on the other side of town, so you didn't think he would travel all the way back again. You sit down across from him. Hunter watches you from the side of the room.
"How was the mission?" Lucien asks.
"It was... uneventful." You lie.
"What happened?" He asks, noticing that you're lying.
"It was just a supply run like I told you. We got the supplies and left. It was on this really industrial planet." You explain.
You aren't completely lying, but part of you still feels guilty.
"If you say so. Since I'm here, do you want to go walk around with me? My parents said I can't go walk around unless someone is with me." He says.
"But you're here alone." You respond.
"Not exactly. My parents walked here with me, but they have to sell some things here, so they can't be with me. I told them you were here and you could be with me." Lucien explains.
He told his parents about me? You think.
"Let me ask my parents." You say, getting up.
"Can I go show Lucien around Ord Mantell? We'll stay close, I promise." You ask your parents.
"Someone needs to go with you two. And bring Omega, too. I'm sure she'd like to go as well." Hunter says.
You're a little annoyed that you need an adult with you, but you also understand where Hunter is coming from.
"Have Echo go with you. That way you can spend time with him. I know you've been wanting to." Dara says.
"Echo?" Lucien repeats.
You forget that he isn't used to clone names. You can't imagine what his reaction will be when he hears the names of everyone else in the squad.
"Echo!" You call him over.
He walks over to you. "What's up?"
"Can you walk around with us? Dad says we need an adult." You explain.
"Sure. I'll follow you two." He replies.
Lucien smiles at you. You blush a little, and you're pretty sure Echo notices.
"Where are we going first?" Lucien asks.
"Let's go to the markets first. Then I can show you the forest." You respond.
"I bet my parents are selling at one of these market stalls. Maybe you can meet them!" He responds, excited.
"I won't be right behind you since you're at the age where you can mostly handle yourselves." Echo says. "But do stay somewhat close."
"We will." Lucien reassures him.
He notices the giant building in the distance in the heart of the city. It towers over the rest of the buildings.
"What's that?" He asks, pointing to it.
"We've never been that deep into the city. I think it's where the person who controls Ord Mantell lives." You speculate.
"Maybe someday we can go." Lucien suggests.
"Yeah." You smile. "Someday."
You get an idea. "Oh, let me show you Mantell Mix!"
He runs after you to the stand. Echo catches up with you two. Before you even begin to ask, he hands you some credits. He knows that you're planning to get some.
"How many cartons today, miss?" The familiar shopkeeper asks.
"Just one, please." You respond.
The shopkeeper scoops some fresh Mantell Mix into a carton and hands it to you.
"Go on, try it." You tell Lucien.
He takes a handful and tries some. His eyes light up.
"This is amazing!" He says happily.
He finishes his handful of the mix. "Let's go look for my parents. They should be around here somewhere."
After walking around some more, Lucien waves to some people. You assume they're his parents. You walk closer to them. They have the same jet black hair and deep green eyes as him. You look at their market stand and see that they're selling hand-crafted jewelry. You can tell that many hours of work have been spent making these beautiful items.
"Are you Y/N?" His father asks.
"Oh! Uh, yeah." You respond awkwardly.
"Lucien has told us all about you! All great things, of course." His mother responds, clearly excited to meet you.
Echo walks up to you two to show that he's with you.
"I'm Echo." He says, introducing himself. "I'm Y/N's uncle."
"Nice to meet you, sir." Lucien's father says.
"Well, we'll let you walk around town some more. Nice to meet the both of you!" Lucien's mother says, waving to you all.
"Bye, Mom and Dad!" Lucien replies, waving back.
After walking around the markets for a while, you and Lucien decide to go to the forest. You lead the way. He marvels at the trees surrounding you all.
"I've never seen trees like this. At least, not very many like this in the place I live." Lucien says.
"This is where I do my training." You comment.
He turns towards you. "What kind of training?"
You panic a little. It's getting difficult to hide your secret from him.
"Training for using blasters and stuff." You respond, keeping your cool.
He doesn't seem to think much of it. You keep walking. He points to a giant boulder, the one you usual meditate on.
"Ooh! I want to climb it!" He says, running towards it.
Using some rocks nearby, he manages to climb up. He helps you up. You're used to using the Force to jump onto the big boulder, so it feels a little odd to climb up without it.
"Look, Echo!" You shout, waving to him.
"I see! Nice job!" He shouts back.
You two sit there for a few minutes. You feel him getting a little closer to you. Part of you wants to get closer to him, but you don't want to risk falling in love and telling him your secret. You don't know if he would tell someone in the Empire. You imagine his family could get paid a lot of money for turning in a Jedi, especially if he turned in the whole squad.
Your thoughts are interrupted by Lucien saying, "You're a Jedi, aren't you."
He found out... You think.
"What makes you think that?" You ask.
"You're secretive, and you don't give very many details about your missions. Something about you is just... different." He says.
"You're just a new person. I don't tell you everything because you're a new friend." You say, moving farther away from him.
"I won't tell anyone, I promise. It's our secret." Lucien says.
"Promise?" You ask.
"I promise." Lucien responds, nodding.
