Summary: You continue to train with Darth Vader and research Clone Force 99 to prepare for your mission.
Warnings: N/AA/N: I was on vacation for a while, so I haven't been able to update my stories. This chapter may be a bit short, so I apologize, but I just wanted to at least give you all a little update. :)
~
You've been training with Darth Vader for around two weeks. Generally, your routine has been the same each day. You wake up early, spend the majority of the day training with Darth Vader or occasionally the Inquisitors, and then research Clone Force 99.
Right now, you're in the training room, dueling with Darth Vader. You've been doing so for around an hour now. As sweat drips down your forehead and your breathing becomes more and more labored, a small part of you just wants to give up and end the duel early.
"You're getting tired." Darth Vader observes. "You must learn to keep fighting despite what your body feels."
"Yes... Lord Vader..." You say through quick, shallow breaths. You lunge forward and strike at your opponent, your lightsaber clashing with his. The two of you keep your lightsabers like this for a while. Darth Vader pushes back, attempting to make you lose your balance. Your legs are tired, and if you don't keep pushing back, you'll fall to the ground. You use what seems like every bit of your strength to counteract his attack, using the Force to push him back and give yourself some distance.
Darth Vader attempts to attack you again. You swiftly dodge out of the way of his attack, standing behind him. You have the upper hand now. Your opponent turns his lightsaber off and turns around to face you.
"We will call it there." He states. "You are not at the level I need you at, but you are... improving."
"I will continue to improve, Lord Vader." You respond with determination in your voice. "What is my next task for the day?"
"Take a short break. Then, I expect you to research Clone Force 99."
"Yes, Lord Vader." You say, exiting the room.
~
You go to your room to take a shower. The water is just cool enough so that it is refreshing but not freezing cold. Once you're done, you get dressed in your clothes, but you don't need to wear your heavy armor right now. You walk over to your bed and sit down, picking up the datapad near you. You open the Imperial database and start looking into all of the files related to Clone Force 99.You notice a picture in one of the files. The group of clones stand together in the photo. Something about them seems so familiar, but you can't place what it is. It has to be a coincidence. Underneath the picture is a passage about Clone Force 99.
It reads:
Experimental Unit Clone Force 99
Experimental Unit Clone Force 99 consists of four members:
- [REDACTED], a clone with enhanced sensory abilities,
- [REDACTED], a clone with an enhanced muscular form,
- [REDACTED], a clone with an enhanced mind and intelligence,
- and [REDACTED], a clone with perfect marksmanship and enhanced eyesight.Note: [REDACTED] later joined Experimental Unit Clone Force 99 despite not being one of its original members.
You find a recent file from around a month ago. It reads:
Mission Report #11643
Experimental Unit Clone Force 99 was seen flying away from the base on Mount Tantiss. A Jedi by the name of [REDACTED] was seen with them. Assets [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] were secured.
"Everything is redacted, huh..." You sigh. You look through more files, seeing what information you can gather. You're curious as to what 'assets' the mission report was referencing. Soon, you hear a knock at your door.
"Come in." You say.
The Third Brother enters.
You roll your eyes. "Great. It's you."
"Don't worry. I'm not here to chat. I just have some information." He responds. "Clone Force 99 was last seen on Lothal. They've been there for three days. Based on their previous flight path, I predict that they'll be going to somewhere in the Outer Rim next."
"Anything else?"
He shakes his head. "No. Besides, it's your mission. Your responsibility." He turns around and leaves your room, shutting the door.
Lothal... have you been there before?
You sigh, confused by all of the information you're reading. Why is it familiar? Maybe there's more to this mission than you originally thought...
