This chapter was partially inspired by Rebels (mostly with the Lothal temple)! Obviously a fair amount of this isn't completely show-accurate but I thought it would be a cool idea for a chapter. :)

It's been a few weeks since you began training with your mother.

"Can we please go to a Jedi temple to get my crystal?" You beg your parents.
"I don't know how all that really works..." Hunter admits.
"It's not easy, Y/N. It will take at least a few hours." Your mom tells you.
"I'll do it!" You say.
"Tell Tech where the temple is. I'm assuming these places are in pretty desolate areas." Hunter says.
You walk with your mom over to Tech.
"Let's see... which one." Your mother mutters to herself.
You wait for her to decide.
"Map us to these coordinates on Lothal. There's a Jedi temple there." Your mom says to Tech.
He nods, then says, "Would it be possible for the rest of us to come in with her? I'm curious to see the structure of the temple."
"I'm afraid not. This is something her and I must do alone." Your mother explains.

You wait in your room on the ship, thinking of all the ways you could build your lightsaber. Omega walks in.
"So... are you going to be a Jedi after this?" She asks.
"I'll still be a Padawan. I need a few more years of training until I can be a Jedi Knight." You explain.
"I wish I could be more helpful..." Omega says, looking at the floor.
"You're helpful. We all are in different ways. That's what's so special about our squad. Everyone has their unique ways to help." You reassure her.
You've noticed that you're getting to like Omega more and more, and you feel like you don't have to be as jealous of her.
"I guess you're right." Omega responds.
Wrecker comes in your room and asks, "Can you lift me with the Force thing?" =ou and Omega laugh and you say, "I can barely lift a rock, Wrecker."

"We're almost at Lothal." Tech tells you.
You eagerly wait by the door for the ship to land.
"What are all of you going to do while I'm searching for my crystal?" You ask everyone.
"Maybe we could look at the nearby structures." Omega says.
"Yes, I would like to see what else is in this area." Tech chimes in, looking at the map on his datapad.
Part of you feels jealous that you won't get to be with the rest of the squad, but you're also excited to finally get your kyber crystal. Tech makes a smooth landing on Lothal, and you wait for everyone to get ready.
"Come on, come on!" You say, bouncing up and down.
"We're almost ready, kid." Hunter says, laughing.
You're the first one to exit the ship. Everyone else follows.

You aren't in the main part of the city, but you're in a slightly cold and sandy area. You see the area where the temple is said to be in the distance.
"Is that it?" You ask your mom.
She nods. You walk close to your mom. Everyone is silent as they look around at the sandy terrain. Since Tech landed fairly close to where the temple is, it's not a very far walk.

Once you reach the area, Echo says, "So, uh, how does this work?"
"There doesn't appear to be an entrance; at least not one that I can see." Tech observes.
Your mother turns to you and says, "Y/N. I'm going to need you to focus your energy on the temple. You and I need to use the Force to lift the temple and open the entrance."
You stand close to your mom and you both close your eyes. She holds one of your hands.
"Ready?" She asks.
"Ready." You say.
You and your mother focus your energy on trying to open the entrance. You hear the old temple walls crack as the temple rises and the entrance begins to open.
"Woah..." Wrecker whispers.
You keep using the Force to try to open the entrance. For a few seconds, it sounds like the rocks won't budge. You take a deep breath and try to focus your thoughts on believing the old temple entrance will open. You hear a big crack and it suddenly feels much easier to push the rocks away from the entrance.
"Open your eyes." Hunter says.
You and your mom open your eyes and see that the entrance has appeared. A bright light flows from the ground near the ancient symbol of the Jedi Order.
"That's amazing." Omega says, surprised.
"Alright, Y/N. You can do this." Your mother says.
You look back at the squad as you and your mother enter the temple.

Okay, I can do this... You think, trying to reassure yourself.
After you walk down the long hallway entrance, you two reach a meditation room.
"This is where I'll leave you for now. You must go into the caverns to find your crystal. If you find it, come back to find me." Your mother says.
You nod and go through one of the paths after the meditation room. Occasionally, you see intricate carvings and designs to symbolize the light and dark sides of the Force. You continue on through your path. It seems too easy.
As you continue down the path, you see the rest of your squad in a vision. It looks so real.
"Y/N. You're here." You hear Hunter say.
"Are you... Wait, you can't be real." You say.
"We're here with you, Y/N." Wrecker says.
"Get out of here, Y/N. You can't do anything for the squad." Omega tells you with a mean look on her face.
Your breathing becomes faster.
"No, you aren't real!" You shout.
"Omega's right. You'll never be useful." Echo says.
"Dara left for a reason. She didn't want to deal with you." Hunter says, getting closer to you.
"You're lying!" You say to him.
"Hunter's right. She told me that when she left." Tech tells you.
They aren't real. They don't think that. You think, closing your eyes.
"Open your eyes, Y/N! You don't belong here! You aren't like the rest of us!" You hear Hunter say. You almost feel like something is shaking you.
You open your eyes.
"You're nothing. You'll never be a Jedi, and you'll never be a good soldier." Hunter says.
No... You think.
"EVERYONE JUST STOP TALKING!" You scream.
The voices of your squad continue to surround you.
"Mom..." You whisper.
You try to block out the voices, but it's no use.
"All of you are wrong." You say with a stern tone.
You take a few deep breaths.
"I'm going to find my kyber crystal, and I'm going to be a Jedi. Mom didn't leave because she didn't want to deal with me. She needed to help the Jedi. I can do a lot for this squad. I can fight, but I'm also a good person. I'm more than a Padawan. I'm more than just a soldier." You confidently say.
The voices begin to disappear and you see the entrance to a cavern.

The cavern is pitch black. You sit in the middle of it and meditate.
Where are you? You think, hoping the answer will come to you.
You feel the Force guide you towards a small area of rocks in the cavern. You carefully walk towards where your intuition is telling you to go, being cautious not to hit your head on any low hanging rocks. You hold out your hand and use the Force to try to wedge the crystal out of the rocks. You try for a few minutes, but it won't budge. You start to get frustrated and you sit against some of the rocks in the darkness.
Mom can't come help me. I need to do this on my own, or we'll be trapped here forever. You think.
You try again, and this time you feel more confident in your ability to use the Force. You catch the crystal in your hand. It glows a bright green color.
"Yes!" You exclaim.
You make your way back through the cavern and navigate your way towards the meditation room. You notice a beautiful painting of the Mortis Gods as you go towards your mother.

You find your mother in the meditation room. You hold out your kyber crystal in your hand.
"You did it! I knew you could." Your mother says.
She inspects the crystal in your hand.
"Why is mine green?" You ask.
"Typically, a green kyber crystal shows that a Jedi uses the Force to reflect on the mysteries of the Force and within the heart. A blue crystal is for Jedi who use the Force on a more physical level." Your mother explains.
"Wow..." You say.
"Did you have a lot of visions?" Your mother asks.
"I did, and they were really scary. But I didn't believe what they said." You tell her.
"Good. If you did, we would be in a lot of trouble..." Your mother admits.
"Can we go outside now?" You ask, longing to get out of the temple.
She smiles and says, "Of course, Padawan."

You hold your hand in front of your eyes to block the bright sun as you exit the temple. The temple was much darker in this, so your eyes are still adjusting. The rest of the squad sees you and comes over to you. You hold out the crystal to show them.
"Wow! It's so pretty!" Omega says.
"I'm proud of you, kid." Hunter tells you.
You smile. You're glad that the visions weren't true.
"I believe I have some parts that you could use to construct your lightsaber. That is, if you want my help." Tech says. You can tell that he would love to help with this.
"I'd like that a lot." You tell him.
"Be careful. Both of you." Your mother says to you and Tech.
"We will." You reassure her.
"Were the other structures interesting?" You ask.
"Yes, but in my opinion, they weren't as interesting as the fascinating mechanism of the Jedi Temple." Tech says.
"I bet it was so cool in there!" Omega says.
"Yeah, cool..." You say, thinking about the visions you had.

As you all walk back to the ship, you look back and see the temple descend into the ground again.
"I am so glad we made it out of there..." You say under your breath.
