It's been a few days since you found your mother. You haven't asked her about Jedi training yet. Lately, the squad has been helping her settle in and catching her up on what has happened. You walk into Hunter's (now both of your parents') room and see your mother there, fixing her lightsaber. She turns towards you.
"Hello, Y/N." She says, giving you a warm smile.
You sit next to her.
"I have a question..." You begin.
"What is it?" Your mother replies.
"Do you... think I could be-" You try to ask. You don't know if she'll say yes to your question you've been wanting to ask.
She looks at you with a confused look on her face.
"It's nothing." You nervously say, walking away.In a couple of minutes, your mother walks over to you.
"I sense fear in you." She says.
"Fear of what?" You say.
"What was your question?" She says, sitting down.
You sigh. "I was wondering... Could you train me to be a Jedi?"
She closes her eyes for a moment. Her face tenses up. You can tell she is reminded of Order 66.
"It is not an easy task to become a Jedi. It's dangerous." Your mother responds.
"I can do it. I'm committed." You say confidently.
"It's not that I believe you can't do it, Y/N. You saw what the Empire did. They put me in a prison. I won't let that happen to you." She replies, looking at you.
"Just a little training?" You ask.
She hesitates for a moment. "Alright. Don't expect it to work right away."Your mother leads you into your room and motions for you to sit on the floor.
"Close your eyes." She says.
You close them.
"What do you feel?" She asks.
"Wrecker stomping through the ship." You say, laughing.
"Not that, Y/N." Your mother says, chuckling.
You try to concentrate on what you hear and feel.
"What do you feel all around you?" She asks.
"Nothing." You say. You start to get frustrated.
"Search your feelings." She continues.
You take a deep breath.
"I feel something." You say.
The feeling quickly goes away.
You groan in frustration.
"Open your eyes." She says.
You get up from the ground.
"What happened?" You ask.
"Harnessing the power of the Force takes time." She says.
"How do I get better at it?" You ask.
"Patience. With more practice every day, you will learn to wield it." She reassures you.You all land on Ord Mantell to get a job from Cid.
Your mother hasn't been here before. As you all exit the ship, she puts the hood of her cloak up.
You walk into the cantina and into the back room. Cid notices the new addition to the squad.
"Who's this?" Cid asks, pointing to your mom.
"This is Dara. My wife." Hunter says.
Cid looks puzzled.
"That was fast." Cid remarks.
"She's been my wife for years. She's Y/N's mother." Hunter explains.
"Yeah, yeah, Bandana. I don't need your family history." Cid cuts in.
"What's our mission?" You ask.
"I need you all to deal with a... creature on the planet of Anaxes."
"What kind of creature?" Tech asks skeptically.
"A fyrnock. It's been causing chaos on the planet." Cid says.
"They do not eat humans. What is the problem?" Tech asks.
"It's been destroying the land. Just figure it out." Cid says, gesturing for you to leave. After a long trip through hyperspace, you land on Anaxes. You exit the ship. It's rocky. You can see a small trading post in the distance.
"That's where we're going." Hunter states.
Your mother puts her hood up again. You and the squad begin to walk towards the town and the forest. Once you reach it, you're surrounded by large trees. You can hear little bugs chirping in the trees.
"Where exactly are these fyrnocks?" Echo asks.
"They should be over-" Your mother begins. Suddenly, a fyrnock grabs her and tosses her against a tree.
"Dara!" Hunter says.
You see a large part of the tree has fallen on her. She can't move.
"Wrecker, help her!" Hunter shouts.
More of the creatures surround you. Your blasters do nothing to these fyrnocks.
The creatures come closer and closer to you all.
"I thought you said these things didn't eat humans!" Echo yells.
"They don't! They're just angry because we shot at them!" Tech shouts back.
You notice a spot between two of the fyrnocks that you can dive through. You notice your mother's lightsaber over by the tree. You quickly jump and dive in between the creatures. They turn to you as you pick up your mother's lightsaber. You ignite it and it lights up the dark forest with its bright blue blade. You impulsively run over to one of the creatures and clumsily slice it with the lightsaber. It's a heavy lightsaber. The fyrnock whines and runs away. You continue to use the lightsaber on the fyrnocks until they run away from the forest near the town. You turn off the lightsaber. Wrecker runs over to your mother and lifts the branches off of her. She gets up and comes over to you.
"I'm sorry for using your lightsaber. I shouldn't have done it, I just saw the creatures and-" You start.
"Nice job, Padawan." Your mother says, winking.
