"Oh my god." Amy said, catching everyone's attention.

"Who was that on the phone?" Momma asked, seeing the distraught look on her daughter's face.

"That was Endora Hospital, Giselle's in the hospital." Amy replied, causing Mason's heart to break.

"What happened?" He asked, and the older sister shook her head.

"According to the nurse she was hit by a vehicle," Amy answered,"We've got to get to the hospital. We won't know more until we go." She said, and the others nodded.

"Ellen and I will stay here with Arnie. You three go check on my baby." Momma commented, as Amy rushed to put on shoes and a jacket.

Amy road in the truck with Gilbert, as they followed behind a speeding Mason. Mason was terrified. The same day he breaks up with her, after being forced to do so, he gets told that she was in an accident, and there was a chance she wouldn't make it. He knew an accident like hers could easily cost the girl her life.

The thought of losing her made him feel nauseous. If he lost her, he wouldn't be able to handle it. If he lost her, he wouldn't be able to live in Endora, the town itself would remind him of her. Honestly, just the thought of losing her made his eyes fill with tears. He couldn't lose her, he refused to.

"Ms. Grape's family?" A nurse asked, and the three nodded.

"Yes, can we know what happened and what's going on?" Amy asked, causing the nurse to nod.

"Follow me." She replied, leading the three into a small, quieter room in the hospital.

The three watched as the nurse closed the door, and they figured it was the hospital's way of keeping their patient's medical stuff confidential.

"Ms. Grape was in a vehicle accident. A man and woman brought her in, after the man accidentally hit her with their truck. When she arrived she was unconscious, but she somewhat came to when they were rushing her to surgery," The nurse began, before she looked at the girl's chart,"So far, we know she has a couple broken bones, she needed surgery on her abdomen for internal bleeding, and she is going to need stitches in her head." The nurse said, as she kept a sympathetic look on her face.

"When will we know anything else?" Gilbert asked, causing the nurse to smile slightly.

"As soon as the doctor is finished with the surgery, he will come out here to talk to you. He will tell you everything you need to know about Ms. Grape's condition." The nurse answered, before she left to give the family some time to come to terms with what had happened.

Mason sat down in a corner away from Amy and Gilbert. He needed time to understand what he was told, and come to terms with the idea that Giselle could be in the hospital for a while. He didn't know what to expect, but he hoped like hell that the doctor came out with some good news. He knew he wouldn't be able to handle much more bad news.

"She's a tough girl, Mason. She'll be fine after this surgery." Amy said, as she sat down next to the man.

"I know she's strong, but anything could be wrong with her, anything could go wrong, and we wouldn't know until it was too late." Mason replied, a couple of tears fell down his face, and he wiped them away with his hand.

"Don't think about it like that, Mason. Think positive thoughts." Amy commented, and he nodded.

"You're right," He murmured, pursing his lips,"I shouldn't even be like this. You're her sister, I should be comforting you." He said, but she shook her head.

"No, you don't have to comfort me, or feel bad for being upset. You're her boyfriend, you love her, and you're worried. I understand." Amy replied, and Mason silently nodded.

Gilbert watched the man with guilt building in his chest. He felt more and more guilty as he watched how the man was acting. Mason was devastated that Giselle was in the hospital and there was nothing he could do about it, and seeing that made Gilbert feel horrible.

Truthfully, Gilbert felt guilty for what happened to Giselle. He believed it was all his fault. If he had stayed out of her and Mason's relationship to begin with, none of this would've happened. He shouldn't have made Mason break up with Giselle. If he would've kept his mouth shut, Giselle would've never been upset, she would've never ran out of the house or got his by a truck. She definitely would've never been in the hospital with more than one injury already recorded.

"The surgery should be over soon. If you three need to make any calls, you should do it in the next half hour." A nurse said, as she stuck her head in the room.

The three almost sighed in relief knowing they would soon have news on Giselle's condition.

"How are we going to be able to help her, when Arnie takes up so much of our time?" Gilbert asked, his voice low.

"Arnie doesn't mean to cause any problems Gilbert." Amy retorted, and Gilbert nodded.

"I know, Amy, but we only have so many hands and so much time. How will we be able to help them both and still get our work done?" Gilbert asked,"I'm not even complaining, I'm just asking a genuine question." He commented, causing Amy to sigh.

"I don't know, Gilbert." Amy murmured, so Mason decided to speak up.

"She can stay with me," He said, but his answer somewhat faded when he seen the hesitation on the siblings' faces,"or I can stay with you guys, and I can take care of her there. I can take a few vacation days, it's not like I work for anyone." He suggested, and the siblings sighed.

"I don't want to put you in that position, Mason. You shouldn't have to step up like that, since we're supposed to do it." Amy replied, but Mason shook his head.

"It's fine, I offered." He said, and Gilbert shocked them both by nodding.

"It's our best option." He commented, shrugging slightly.

He just hoped he wouldn't regret it...
