A total of four days went by, before Giselle was discharged from the hospital. Mason and Gilbert had to help her into the backseat of Mason's car, whilst Amy collected all of Giselle's medicine at the pharmacy. Gilbert had drove his own truck, so Amy had to use the car.

Gilbert and Mason had practically set up an entire bed in the back of Mason's car, so Giselle would be as comfortable as possible. The ride hurt enough, so they didn't want her to be in a lot of pain because she was uncomfortable the way she was sitting or laying. She felt better laying on all of the pillows, and covered by a lightweight blanket.

Mason followed slowly behind Gilbert, so if something happened, he could honk the horn and Gilbert would stop immediately to assist him. The drive to the Grape home seemed a lot longer than normal, but the men were driving slower than they would when Giselle wasn't hurt.

The moment Mason's car came to a stop at the Grape home, Amy ran out to the car, and Ellen followed behind her. Momma kept Arnie in the house, so he wouldn't accidentally get in the way and possibly hurt Giselle anymore. She knew he was worried about his big sister, but she didn't want to chance anything.

Amy and Gilbert helped Giselle out of Mason's car, as Mason and Ellen collected the blanket and pillows from the backseat. Giselle had to walk very slow, since it hurt to walk almost at all. The boot on her ankle helped keep some of the pressure off, but her knee hurt like hell when it bent, and her ribs hurt to do anything at all, even simply just breathing.

"Oh, my baby." Momma cooed, as she walked over to Giselle and carefully placed a kiss on the girl's cheek.

"Giselle's hurt." Arnie commented, and the others nodded.

"She's really hurt, so you've got to be extremely careful with her, Arnie." Amy said, causing Arnie to laugh.

"I know, Amy." He replied, smiling at his big sisters.

"Are you hungry, Giselle?" Momma asked, and Giselle nodded.

"Yes, but I can't eat much." Giselle answered, frowning slightly.

"Let's get you up to your room and Amy can get you some food." Gilbert commented, as Amy and Mason switched places, so Mason could support Giselle up the stairs.

The stairs were almost impossible for Giselle, as the boys carefully helped her walk up them. By the time she got to her room, she was breathing a bit hard, and tears had built up in her eyes. Gilbert and Mason frowned when they seen the tears in Giselle's eyes, but she blinked them away before they could fall down her cheeks.

"Do you want to change into pajamas before you lay down?" Gilbert asked, and Giselle nodded.

Ellen had luckily followed them upstairs, so she helped her sister change, since the older girl didn't want the boys to change her. Both boys were fine with changing her, but Gilbert was happy to see their little sister actually trying to help instead of complaining about something stupid like she normally did.

Once Giselle was in her pajamas, Gilbert and Mason helped her carefully lay down in her bed. It wasn't easy, but luckily they had set up an area for her before she had come home. Mason placed her blanket lightly over her legs, and a moment later Amy came in the room with a bowl of macaroni and cheese for the girl.

"Thank you, Amy." Giselle said, causing her sister to smile.

"You're welcome," Amy replied,"take your meds when you're done eating. I'll send Gilbert up here in an hour to collect your dishes. Get some rest once you've eaten and taken your meds. We'll work on bathing you tomorrow." Amy informed, and Giselle nodded.

Giselle slowly ate her macaroni, since she only had one had to eat with. She had to be careful not to bend forward either, since it sent severe pain through her body because of her ribs and stitches. Mason brought her a small bowl, cup, and her toothbrush with toothpaste on it for her to brush her teeth once she took her medicine.

After brushing her teeth, Giselle slid down on the mattress slightly to get more comfortable. Mason laid down beside her, but he didn't allow himself to get too comfortable until after he was sure she was asleep. By the time she fell asleep, Gilbert came into the room to collect her bowls and cups.

"You go get ready for bed. I'll watch over her until you're back." Gilbert said, and Mason nodded.

Mason was quick with his shower, as well as brushing his teeth. Once he was clean, he slipped on a pair of sleep pants, and headed back to Giselle's room. As soon as Gilbert seen Mason, he stood from his seat and headed out of the room, turning off the big light as he left. The small lamp on the bedside table stayed on.

Mason carefully climbed into the bed and laid next to Giselle. He pulled a blanket up to his hips and let out a sigh. He was tired, exhausted even, but he couldn't seem to fall asleep fast enough. His mind kept racing, thinking about all of the things that could've happened to Giselle.

He was so scared of losing her. Sleeping next to her felt almost like a dream in itself. She was beside him, in her own home, and she was alive, but his mind couldn't stop making him think the worst. Instead of letting himself become anymore upset, Mason closed his eyes and cleared his mind.

She was alive. She was safe. She was beside him. As long as he knew that, he was going to be able to fall asleep easier. She may have been hurt, but at least she was alive and with him. If she wasn't, he'd never be able to rest. She was his world, and he didn't want to lose her...
