A little over two weeks passed, before Giselle had decided she was going to stay over with Mason. She really missed him, even though he visited her every day at work, and took her out on dates as often as possible. They'd have a date night at least once a week. It was truly the highlight of Giselle's week, when she went on a date with Mason.
Gilbert wasn't the happiest when he found out that Giselle was going to stay at Mason's. He thought that with Mason out of the house, he'd have more time to hang out with his sister like they use to do. He hoped that they'd be able to spend a night outside until the late hours, just staring at the stars and talking about their week. It was something they had done since they were little, but it hadn't really happened much since Mason came into the picture.
Yes, Giselle's brother wanted her to be happy, but he felt like he was being neglected. Well, neglected sounds a bit excessive, but he felt left out when it came to his sister. She always wanted to hang out with him, be his best friend, but now she wasn't around often. It was a change that Gilbert really wasn't a fan of.
Knowing that Giselle was staying a weekend with him, Mason cleaned his house from top to bottom. His house was never really dirty, but he didn't want to let anything slip past him that would make him look like a slob to her. He knew she loved him, but he didn't want to give her a reason not to, even with something as little as having a dusty TV stand.
Giselle had been driven to work by Gilbert today, and Arnie was in the middle. Mason had offered to pick Giselle up from work to bring her to his place, and she was very happy to oblige. She even made sure to have her bag packed up and carried it with her to work. She'd have the chance to grab it right before she clocked out, and she wouldn't have to go home and pack later.
"Can I have a sleepover at Mason's, Giselle?" Arnie asked, causing the girl to smile.
"I'll talk to Mason, and I bet the next time I go, he'll let you come with." Giselle replied, and Gilbert frowned to himself.
Gilbert didn't like how much Arnie liked Mason. He was glad that Mason was good to Arnie, don't get it twisted, but he didn't like that Arnie seemed to love Mason like he was family. Gilbert didn't see Mason as family, not yet. To him, Mason could still easily break his sister's heart, and he'd have to hurt the man for it.
Anyhow, that night when Mason came and picked Giselle up from work, she told him what Arnie had asked. Mason was more than happy to agree to letting the boy stay over the next time Giselle came. Honestly, Mason was surprised it took so long for Arnie to ask to go along with him and Giselle.
For dinner that night, Mason made cheeseburgers and fries. Well, he made fries for himself, and he had gotten Giselle chips, since she wasn't a huge fan of fries. She ate them on occasion, but it was seemingly very rare. He wanted her to be able to eat until she was full, so he made sure to have one of her favorite kinds of chips around. Besides, he knew she could snack on them later if she didn't want them with her burger.
After dinner, the couple went to the living room and watched the first Nightmare on Elm Street movie. Giselle wasn't a huge horror fan, but Freddy Krueger was definitely one of her favorite horror movie villains. He could be funny and scary at the same time, which was definitely something Giselle could enjoy.
Around midnight, the couple decided to head to bed. Mason had given Giselle one of his shirts to wear to bed, and she loved the smell of his scent on the shirt as she slipped it over her head. Laying in bed together was something they had missed, but finally being able to do it again felt amazing, this time though, it was different.
This time, they shared a bed in more than one way. Their sounds weren't heard by anyone, and they didn't have to worry about being caught. All that was there was them, and that was exactly how they wanted it to be. It wouldn't happen often, but when they got the chance, they'd run with it.
"We definitely can't do that when Arnie stays over." Giselle commented, breathing heavily.
"No, we'd scar him for life." Mason replied, laughing to himself.
The two fell asleep wrapped in each other's arms. The feeling of their naked bodies touching was something that they wished they could always feel. Hell, they didn't have to be naked, as long as they were together, and didn't have to leave each other's side. They were happy together, and they wanted it to stay that way.
Life was unpredictable, and it had many ups and downs. Giselle knew anything could happen, and she had to live in the moment. Mason was afraid to lose anything and everything dear to him, so he held on to what he loved most, and hoped it would never disappear or be taken from him.
Neither were going to take their relationship for granted. They had already been broken up once, and they couldn't let it happen again. They were happy, and that's all that should matter to anyone. If people wanted them to truly be happy, they'd leave them alone and let them be together.
Tomorrow wasn't promised, it never was. They had to live each day as if it was their last. As long as they didn't go through life doing things that didn't matter, then they'd fulfill their destiny and what was supposed to play out for them...

A/N: Since the movie is more PG-13, I decided to keep the book that way. With that being said, there will not be any smut present. I'm sorry.
