Four days passed since Giselle had seen Mason. She believed it was the one and only time she would ever see the handsome man. She wouldn't be surprised if he was only passing through, but had claimed to be moving into town to get a response from her.

She had kept the meeting a secret from all of her family. She knew Momma would have a heart attack if she talked to a boy; scared that Giselle would try to disappear like their oldest brother had. Giselle knew she would never leave her family, but Momma was always scared to lose them.

Amy would be excited to hear about a boy, since she never really had the chance to get a boyfriend yet in her life. Ellen wouldn't give a damn, but she didn't seem to really care about anyone but herself. Yes, she could be a good child, but she was mostly opinionated and rude, especially to Arnie, Gilbert, and Giselle.

If she told Arnie, well, he may not understand, but he may also go around screaming it at the top of his voice. He did that often, most of the time it was things that someone didn't want to be said more than once. He never really understood the cue to stop either, which was a bit frustrating.

Gilbert was the one person that Giselle could potentially tell, but at the same time, she would be scared to tell him. He would either be happy, or find the man and threaten him. Gilbert was a nice guy, and Giselle loved him more than anyone, but sometimes she could be scared of his reaction a lot of times.

Anyhow, Giselle's lunchbreak had come, and she was ready to go to Lamson's to see Arnie and Gilbert. She would buy a pre-made sandwich and two chocolate bars or whatever candy Arnie wanted that day. She would share hers with Gilbert, and give Arnie his own so he could have as much as he wanted.

As she was walking to the grocery store, she heard a car coming to a stop nearby. Looking up, she seen a beautiful black car, before she caught a glimpse of the guy she met four days ago. The cuts on his face seemed to have healed, or if they hadn't healed, they were almost healed. He hadn't planned to see Giselle that day, not yet at least, but when he looked over and seen her, a grin made its way on to his face.

"Hey, Giselle." He called, and she smiled.

"Hey, Mason." She replied, feeling like maybe he hadn't lied to her after all.

"Where ya headed?" He asked, as he stepped out of his car and closed the door.

"Lamson's. It's my lunchbreak, and I normally spend them with my brothers." She answered, and he nodded.

"I'm headed in for some stuff. Y'mind if I follow?" He asked, giving her a wink.

He knew the store was literally about ten steps away, but he liked talking to the girl. She was beautiful, and she seemed like a girl he could get along with without having an argument every few minutes over stupid little things.

"Uh, sure." She replied, smiling lightly.

The girl didn't know how Gilbert would react if he seen her walk in with this new man, especially since she knew for a fact he had seen the man once already when he first arrived in town. He would want to know the man's exact intentions with her, and she didn't want to run the man off before she ever really got to know him.

"Ladies first." He commented, as he opened the door to the store.

"Thank you." She murmured, blushing lightly.

Gilbert didn't know his sister had walked into the store with the new man in town, until he heard Arnie calling out to her.

"Giselle!" Arnie exclaimed, waving to his big sister.

"Hey, Arnie." Giselle said, as she walked over and hugged her little brother.

"Hi, Mason. Remember me, Mason?" Arnie asked, giving the man a smile.

"I sure do. It's good to see you again, Arnie." Mason replied, waving to the boy.

"You come for more candy or more food?" Arnie asked, as he flicked his nose with his index finger.

"Yeah, I gotta pick up some things, maybe a pie if Mr. Lamson has any out." Mason answered, grabbing a basket to hold his groceries.

Gilbert watched from where he was labeling some groceries, as his sister smiled at the new man. He scowled slightly, not liking how much she stared at the man. He did feel less hate towards the man when he seen how nice he was being to Arnie. Only Gilbert's friends had seemed to be nice to Arnie, without having to be told, but this man seemed to be different than all the other people in town.

"I'll help!" Arnie exclaimed, jumping off the counter.

"No, Arnie, it's lunchtime. I thought you wanted to get a candy with me for lunch." Giselle commented, causing Arnie to look at her and scratch his head slightly.

"Oh, right," He chuckled,"Sorry, Mason. It's my lunchtime." He said, and Mason nodded.

"It's cool, man. I can wait if ya want to still help me after lunch." Mason replied, causing Arnie to laugh excitedly.

"Can I help him, Giselle?" Arnie asked, looking over at his big sister.

"Of course, Arnie," She answered,"Now, how 'bout you go pick out the candy you want, and don't forget to grab Gilbert and I a piece to share." She said, making him nod.

He quickly ran off to the candy, as Giselle turned to face Mason.

"You really don't have to indulge him. I understand if you'd rather get out of here and--" She began, but he cut her off.

"No, I'm cool with it, Giselle. Arnie's a cool kid." He said, making the older sister smile.

Gilbert rolled his eyes, as he carried over two pre-packaged lunches for Giselle and Arnie. Gilbert grabbed himself a pre-packaged sandwich, as well as one for Mason, since he knew he sister would scold him. He just hoped his sister didn't expect much from this new man, since he could easily pick up and leave Endora once he realized how boring the town really was...
