35. We won't sell to you

Sanem stands around in the kitchen for a good five minutes before she starts looking for a bowl, ground coffee and a lighter.

She scoops a spoonful into the small bowl, and then lights it. Smoke rises from the bowl and Sanem inhales accidentally, coughing immediately after at the strong aroma wafting up.

Standing away, she searches for a pot, and when she finds it, she places the smoking bowl inside and goes back outside with a grin.

"Excuse me, I'll be just a second," Deren informs Can as she walks into his frame with a couple of lollipops on a plate.

He nods and keeps testing his camera, taking a picture a nearby tree.

"Arzu," Deren smiles, approaching the woman standing there having her outfit checked, "these are the lollipops you'll be eating during the shooting."

Arzu stares at the candy. "Are you serious?"

"Yes," Deren nods.

"Can?" Arzu calls, pushing her stylist aside. Can lifts his head from the screen to his right to look at her walking over. "Can, you know I'm going through detox. I can't eat candy!"

"Yes, dear Arzu, I know, how can I not?" She barely ate a thing in Agva. "But we all suffer for our art right, and look, there's nothing wrong with them." He ushers JJ over, who was now holding the plate and takes one. "I love them, they're delicious... you're going to love them. They're organic. I got them just for you because I know you're on a detox."

She smiles, looking at the lollipos and back to him. "You did?"

He nods. "And you know what else? This isn't going to take forever, I'll finish quickly, I promise."

Arzu relents and he puts the lollipop into his mouth in triumph. "Hm, guys?! Please come touch up her makeup, her forehead is a little shiny!"

Arzu eyes bulge and touching her face, runs to her team to get herself looked at.

Can shakes his head and widens his eyes. He needed more strength than he had to make it through today. At least he knew how to deal with models.

A large cloud of smoke comes walking across the backyard then, making everyone pause to watch. Sanem is revealed when she reaches them holding his red stew pot.

Deren pulls her nose up when the smell reaches her as Sanem places the pot on the grass. "What is - "

"Wow that's rough!" JJ gasps and waves a hand.

Can, sucking on his lollipop, stands aside to avoid the smoke, but he keeps watching with interest.

Arzu starts coughing and everyone else complains while Sanem just stands upright and pushes her hair out of her face, sniffing.

"Sanem! What is that?!" Deren demands.

"There's a brown blob burning in there!" JJ coughs, jumping back from the pot.

"There's too much smoke I can't see anything!" Arzu waves her hands and tries to step away from the smoke that seems to follow her. "This is terrible!"

"I'm just burning some coffee to keep the flies away," Sanem shrugs, picking up the pot.

"Do you want to kill me?!" Arzu screeches when Sanem steps closer to her. "Do you?! Stay away from me!" Sanem steps everytime Arzu does. Deren did tell me to stay close didn't she?

"Sanem stop!" Deren yells over Arzu's screams and JJ bumps into Deren trying to get away from Arzu hiding behind him.

Having had enough of the chaotic scene - no matter how comical - Can raises his voice to call their attention to him. "Okay! Okay! Be quiet!" Everyone looks at him. "Arzu, please calm down?" he begs. "I'll take care of this. You're going to ruin your make up again." He waves over her team. "Can we fix her hair? It still looks a little flat."
