"I think, if we put some - Oof!" Levent's foot slips on a step and he steadies himself against the wall. He had been walking backwards while he spoke, looking up and so completely missed the step. He wipes his dusty hand off and growls.
Sanem turns, staring at him in shock. "Ssss..." she winces. "Are you okay?"
"Damn it! It's ruined," he grumbles and looks at his suit jacket then his hand in irritation. "I hate dust and dirt."
Sanem's eyebrows shoot up. My God...really?!
"I'll go and clean myself off and then I'll be back."
Sanem looks at him walking out, her face screwed up. "It's just dust," she mocks him. "Nothing wrong with it." She shakes her head and walks back to the middle to wait there.
'Don't be prejudiced! He's handsome and most likely the Albatross! Just keep doing what you're doing! Wait for him and do not look at Can! Concentrate!'
Sanem nods at the voice, taking a deep breath. I can do this...
'Do NOT look at Can! Do NOT look at -'
Sanem was already turning, unable to stop herself. It was reflex by now - always wanting to know where he was. To her dismay, Polen was slipping and tripping all over, still hanging on Can like one of his necklaces.
"Okay, okay, okay, you're okay," she heard him say while holding Polen up as she hops in one spot.
Sanem glares at them and deciding that it wouldn't do, lifts her hand and calls out. "Mr Can?"
Can's head turns and he looks over his shoulder at her. "Yes, Sanem?!"
Shoot, now what? Her eyes widen for a second. "Uhm, can you come here for a minute? I have something I want to ask?"
Can blinks and then looks around. He realizes only then that he is alone with Polen and Sanem. He sighs inwardly. Great, where's Mr Levent? Did he run already an hour in? "Is it urgent?!" he checks.
"Very Mr Can!"
"Okay, ask from there," Can calls.
He was the only thing keeping Polen from hitting the floor face first in the ridiculous heels she was wearing. It was partly his fault - he didn't tell her they would be in such a rundown area. He'd just assumed she would stay in the car and wait, not come inside. "I can hear you from here!"That beats this exercise, Mr Can.
"No, I need to show you too. It's over there!" Sanem points towards the door, near the corner that he cut his hand in."Hmm," Can frowns and looks down at a miserable looking Polen. "Okay! Wait there, I'm coming!"
"I'm waiting," she says to herself and turns, focusing on her notebook, before looking over at him again to see if he was on his way. He was busy pointing at Sanem, saying something to Polen before she nods and he comes over, pushing leaves out of the way. Sanem looks up at the glass ceiling, trying to think what she was going to tell him once he reaches her.
"Yes Sanem?" Can asks when he's close enough, wiping his hands down his jeans. "What is it?"
"Uhm..it's..." Levent nearly had an aneurysm because of the dust yet Can just shakes it off... Sanem shakes her head a little to dispel her thoughts.
"I need to ask something important.""Ask me," Can nods.
"Ask..." Sanem tilts her head, getting a good look at him for the first time as her mind races with their encounter the day before when he said those exact words. Wake up Sanem! She clears her throat and blinks away the image of Can leaning forward. "Right! Uhm...What color for the outer walls?" she asks and uncaps her pen, looking up at him expectantly.
