Aylin closes her laptop, rubbing her temples as she takes a sip of her drink. Nothing was working out.
She couldn't get clients because she didn't have money. She couldn't get the money because Emre wasn't helping her with clients anymore.
She couldn't make a loan because she's used her personal account to pay advertisers and employees, so the bank has refused her.I wish I could just slap him so he'll wake up and realize what he's doing!
Her phone rings and she picks it up. Levent calling...
Thank God! He had been a last ditch effort to get some kind of work in. Even small business was better than no business.
"Mr Levent!" she smiles. "If you're done we can meet up if you'd like?"
"I'm sorry Aylin, I won't be able to give you part of the contract after all. It's been signed by Fikri Harika and Galina already. They get it all."
"I understand."
"What did you want to meet about?"
"It's not important. If you do think of something, please let me know."
"Of course."
"Thank you. Good day."
Aylin hangs up and then slams her phone down on the table.
-
"And?" Can asks when Levent comes back in.
"I told her."
"That's that then," Can stands and clears his throat, ready for this to end already. "Next time we can confirm what you want to do and go have a look at the site."
"That works for me," Levent nods and starts packing up his briefcase.
Can and Deren look at each other, communicating silently while Sanem sat sliding her notes away into her own file.
"Miss Deren," Levent says when he's done and holds out his hand. "It was very nice to meet you. I will gladly hear your thoughts in the future."
"Of course Mr Levent."
Sanem stands up, coming round to the other side as Deren leaves the office looking in a much better mood.
"Mr Levent, I hope you enjoyed the meeting," she holds out her hand and Levent turns to her.
Can's eyes go to their hands connecting again. It was beyond annoying to see her so eager to touch Levent.
"How else? You have so many good ideas Sanem, my mother was right." She smiles. "Oh," he winces. "Sorry, I meant to say Miss Sanem."
Behind Levent's back Can mocks his grin and rolls his eyes. Miss Sanem...
"No, you can call me Sanem." You can call me whatever you want! "Everyone else calls me that."
"There's something that I've been meaning to say, if it's not over stepping in any way?" Levent leans closer when she shakes her head and so does Can involuntarily. He also wanted to hear what he had to say. "It feels like I've seen you before. Your face looks very familiar."
Really asshole? Really? Can narrows his eyes at them.
Sanem breathes out a short laugh, standing even closer to Levent and lowering her voice. "I know what you mean, you look familiar too."
This is bullshit...
"The 40th anniversary party of the agency? Were you there at the opera house?"
Levent takes a second. "Of course! It could be yes, I was there." Levent smiles and nods.
Can looks at the ceiling and sighs. You were there yeah, with your fucking girl of the week.
