Can finished his magazine and then he started getting bored. Everytime he checked, Sanem was busy with something else. Either wiping down the counter or stocking the shelf.
He gets up and goes around the corner to look around. Bending he grabs an apple, tosses it in the air and turns to look at her through the window. She looks over her shoulder at him too and blinks.
I like this angle. At her curious gaze, he decides to be mischievous and sends her a kiss, grinning when her mouth pops open in shock. He takes out his knife as she watches and starts to cut up the apple, putting a piece in his mouth while she sprays the glass in line with his face and wipes it down hard. He just kept smiling. Just because she was irritated by his presence didn't mean he had to sit still and not enjoy himself irritating her. He had a lot of time.
Sanem narrows her eyes at him on the outside eating her produce and sprays the window again. He sends her another wink and she wipes the window even harder. He repeats the action every time she looked and she sprays right into that winking eye. It was cute when he got here but now it's just annoying...
An hour later, Can is once again paging through a magazine - he had read one, then put it back and gotten another and so on and so on until Melihat decided to make an appearance.
"Hello, how are you?"
Can looks up from the magazine and nods at her. "Hello."
"I saw you sitting all by yourself out here since this morning, and I thought to myself 'he must be starving the poor thing'...so here I am. Just out of the oven. Burek."
He takes one and looks at it, whistling. "I remember these."
"I made sure there's lots of flavor in there," she chuckles. He takes a bite and chews with his eyes closed. "Enjoy it!"
Sanem lifts her hands inside the store seeing this, and mouths 'what are you doing?!'
Melihat giggles silently, wagging a finger at her.
"Take the other one," she holds out the plate to Can again who indeed takes another one. "Oh, you're just darling! Oh no!" She laughs as Sanem comes rushing out to chase her off. She turns and runs the other way to Sanem's house. "Wait till your mother hears about this!"
"You're so nosy!" Sanem hisses. "And don't tell her! Nothing's happening!"
Melahat stops at a few ladies also taking peeks at the young man hanging around the store.
"Hm," Can hums in appreciation, "this woman knows what she's doing...This is very tasty Sanem," Can shakes his head, taking another bite. "Mmm mmm."
Sanem sighs, rolling her eyes at him. She was going to be hung by her toenails is Melihat tells her mother. Can needed to leave. Now.
'I can see what's going on!' Melihat mouths and Sanem lifts her shoulders in response.
'Nothing's going on! Go away!' Sanem mouths back and Melihat laughs again, wagging her finger.
Can's phone rings as he's chewing and he gets up to answer, walking into the street next to where Sanem was gesturing to Melihat, licking off his thumb and forefinger. "I'm listening Deren..."
Sanem steps up to the magazines and pretends to fix them, glancing at him sideways whilst eavesdropping.
"Damn it, I forgot about the meeting..." He huffs. "Okay, calm down.." He listens and nods. "Doesn't matter where I am now, I'll be there soon." Then he hangs up and looks at Sanem, who nearly drops the postcards in her hands. "Sanem, as much as I want to keep you company all day, I have a business to run and you know, your ad with Galina's first pitch to attend." She narrows her eyes slightly when his attention is on putting his phone away. "What time do you close?" he asks, looking at her again.
