Can was leaning forward on the back of his chair, standing up with his head on his forearms when Sanem knocks on his door with a cup of tea in her hand. He lifts his head and she enters.
"Mr Can, I've brought you some tea," she says carefully.
He looks at her for a second. He was hoping she would come in some time soon. "Just what I needed," he sighs and takes a breath, somehow already feeling less restless. She frowns and he points at the cup. "The tea, I mean. Thank you." She looks at the cup as he takes it and drinks.
Sanem lifts her eyes to his. When she left him on Saturday he was very upset. "Are you okay?" she asks.
He puts the cup in its saucer and shrugs. "Sure," he sighs but shakes his head. What does okay even mean?
She nods, swallowing. The door opens, forcing Can to look away at Deren coming in.
"Can, how are you today?" She walks right past Sanem to him and touches his face. "I was so worried. Are you okay?"
He pats her arms down and nods. "I'm fine Deren." She lowers her hands. Sanem looks away, feeling in the way, but she hasn't been dismissed yet.
"Do you want to go out? We can have some breakfast?" Sanem looks at Can. "It would be a good distraction."
Can grimaces and shakes his head. "No Deren, thank you but I'm really fine. I'll stay here." He picks up his cup of tea, looking at the deep rich copper color as he drinks.
"We have to talk, Can," Deren insists. She turns to Sanem. "Sanem, will you please excuse us?"
"Of course." Sanem turns, grateful that she didn't have to witness any more of Deren's fawning.
"Uhm, Sanem wait," Can speaks up and she stops, looking at him. "I need to talk to you."
She hesitates. Did he mean now? "Now?"
"Yes now."
She stays in her spot then, only nodding.

"This looks great, just add some more details," Leyla tells Avli, smiling. "And when you're done we can write a new report okay?" Avli nods and takes the document back.
"Leyla, where's Sanem?"
Leyla turns to Emre, standing behind her. "She just took Mr Can some tea."
"Damn it," he whispers. He was hoping to catch her before she could talk to Can, and talk to her first.
"What's wrong Mr Emre?"
"Oh, it's nothing important, I just forgot something..." He smiles. "I'll talk to you later." He turns on his heel and walks through the to the other side, leaving Leyla to wonder if Sanem was in trouble again.
-
"Can, my phone hasn't stopped ringing all morning. Our clients are worried about what's happening." Deren had jumped right into why she wanted to talk to Can after he told Sanem to stay. "I have to call everyone back with some sort of explanation Can, especially Fabri, the man is relentless."
Can turns midpace, giving her a stern look. "You're not calling anyone Deren." Sanem looks at him again. He was getting more and more worked up by the second right in front of her eyes.
"Can, I have to. You're being accused of stealing ideas, it's very serious. We stand a chance of losing a lot of clients. We have to try and salvage something out of this crisis!"
The door opens behind Deren and Emre stops in it, looking out of breath. In truth he had all but run to Can's office to stop Sanem talking to him.
Can just gives Deren a blank look and she purses her lips, turning around when Emre enters. Sanem eyes him as he walks up to Can.
