Sanem took a turn an hour later that led them down a forest path. And as much as Can appreciated any kind of scenic route, now wasn't the time.
Sanem starts to slow down again and he turns to complain when she asks, "Don't you hear that?"
The next moment, the car comes to a stop and Can groans loudly. "Why did you stop?"
"I think something's wrong."
Can nods. "Of course something's wrong," he scoffs and opens his door. "It was inevitable that 'something' would be 'wrong'," he looks at her accusingly, one foot outside, "I was just waiting for it to happen."
Sanem blinks at him, confused. He gets out all the way and walks around to the other side, checking as he goes.
"The wheel has a puncture," he says from the back and Sanem pokes her head out the window trying to see.
"What?" There was indeed a flat tyre on her side and she opens her door to get out too.
"Well done Sanem," he puffs and holds up a hand for a high five, which she gives out of pure instinct. "Very professional driving skills. You drove straight into a nail."
Sanem takes her hand back slowly and frowns. "What are we going to do now?"
Can looks at her worried expression and nods at the back. "Do you mind getting the jack from the trunk?" He gives her a small smile to show he wasn't mad and she nods, her relief evident on her face.
"The jack?" she questions on the way.
"Hm hm," he sighs tiredly and then bends to take a closer look at the damaged tire.
"Mr Can?"
"Yes Sanem?"
"I need the keys."
He stands up and takes a step to the driver's side window, taking out the keys. "Here you go," he says, handing them to her, and he waits as she unlocks the trunk, inspecting the tire again.
"Jack...jack..." Sanem mutters, looking around inside. She knew what a jack looked like, but she didn't want to get the car fixed too fast, so she grabs the spirit level and then grins, holding it out to Can. "The jack."
Can looks at it for a second, pulling his glasses down over his nose, his eyes going to hers. Finally he takes it and Sanem closes the trunk, dusting her hands in satisfaction.
Pursing his lips, Can gestures for her to reopen the trunk, shaking his head. With a heavy heart she opens it again. He puts the spirit level back and removes the actual jack. "The jack," he holds it up and she grimaces.
Right...

Emre was very surprised and yet oddly happy when he sees Leyla standing outside his door. He hangs up the phone and stands, walking over to the closed door and opening it for her. "Leyla?"
"Mr Emre," she greets him with a small smile and nod.
"Come in." She does and he shuts his office door behind her. "What are you doing here?"
"I work here, or I hope I do?" She frowns at his tone. "I wanted to come and ask if I could come back yet...?"
"I didn't mean for it to come out like that. I'm sorry," he smiles at her. "It's just been very confusing here lately."
"I know what Nazim said, Mr Emre... I didn't do this I promise, but no one believes me."
"The mails were found on your computer. No one else's."
