Chapter 21: Drizzle

They were riding on a bus heading to San Juan, Batangas. Dahil masyado pang maaga, napansin ni Ly na papikit-pikit ang mata ni Den. Isinandal naman ni Alyssa ang ulo nito sa kanyang balikat para makatulog si Den.

"Babe, sing for me." Paglalambing ni Den.

"Hmmm. What song?" Alyssa asked.

"Any song." Den answered.

Alyssa coughed. Kinanta niya ang unang kanta na pumasok sa isip niya.

Den closed her eyes as she listens to Alyssa's voice. It made her much comfortable. Hindi naman kasi siya talaga sanay magcommute, lalo na public vehicle pa.

Den grinned. Parang kailan lang, nayayabangan siya kay Alyssa. Parang kailan lang, ayaw niyang makita ang mukha nito. Parang kailan lang yun, pero ngayon, magkasama na sila. Pupunta pa nga silang Batangas para lang maipakilala siya sa magulang nito.

"Babe, I won't go another day without you." Sabi ni Alyssa after the song. Den, with eyes closed, smiled at what Alyssa has just said.

"Me too, babe." Den said and drifted off to sleep.

Alyssa was overthinking things. She knew Ara would do something. Something that would take Den away from her. She can't lose this girl.

She did wake up nang nakarating na sila sa bayan nila.

"Babe, wake up." Sabi ni Alyssa habang tinatapik ang pisngi ni Den.

"Uhmmmm. 5 more minutes." Den said and hugged Ly tight. Ly just hugged. The bus was just waiting for them to go down.

"No, babe. Hinihintay na kang nila tayo bumaba." Ly whispered. Hindi sumagot si Den at niyakap niya lang nang mas mahigpit si Ly. Dahil wala atang balak bumaba si Den, Ly carried her like a sack at saka hinila pababa yung maleta ni Den.
