"Alex! Guess what I just saw on TikTok!"
"Oh great." Alex mutters. "Reg, you can't believe everything you see on that app."
Alex honestly wishes Julie and Flynn never introduced him to the addictive app because now he always is on it.
"But this is about Pluto!"
"Pluto will never be a planet. I'm sorry."
"Well you're wrong. Julie, Luke, Rue, and even Willie, your own boyfriend, are team Pluto." Reggie says. "And if you think that Pluto isn't a planet just because it hasn't killed off its neighbors, than Earth a dwarf planet now too."
"No it's not." Alex laughs.
"It is! Scientists found an asteroid that orbits Earth and they're calling it a second moon, but that's hypocritical. If earth can't clear the asteroid away it's a dwarf planet." Reggie says. "So either Earth is a dwarf planet too or Pluto is a major planet. I rest my case."
Alex chuckles, honestly the whole Pluto debate amuses him. It's entertaining to see how passionate Reggie gets about a planet no one seems to care about and the lengths he'll go to to support the fact it was a major planet.
"You know I'm right." Reggie says.
"Reg, Pluto isn't a planet because the objects in its orbit are almost the same size as Pluto." Alex says. "The asteroid orbiting earth is much smaller, so it doesn't count. Earth is still a planet and Pluto is not."
"I think you just don't wanna be wrong." Reggie says. "Pluto is a planet and I'm tired of all the disrespect he gets. It's not fair."
"It's a planet. It doesn't have feelings." Alex says.
"He might." Reggie says. "And you are one of the heartless monsters who make him feel sad."
"You really think I'm a heartless monster?"
Reggie nods. "You are to Pluto."
"Okay fine, I'm sorry Pluto." Alex looks up.
"Pluto doesn't forgive you." Reggie says. "He told me to tell you he doesn't believe you and doesn't want to be your friend anymore."
"Me and Pluto aren't friends."
"Well not anymore." Reggie says. "You hurt his feelings." He frowns.
"Wait, Reg we're still friends, right?" Alex says all of the sudden getting nervous. What if Reggie was trying to tell him he don't want to be friends with him anymore and this whole Pluto thing was a metaphor? What if he accidentally hurt his feelings and this isn't about Pluto at all?
"What? Yeah of course, I mean I may disagree with you about Pluto but you're stuck with me forever. Pluto will come around and be your friend again don't worry."
Alex sighs in relief. It wasn't a metaphor, Reggie's just being Reggie. "You're such a dork." He says.
