"Marguerite Garnier stepped up to front the heritage brand and global enterprise known as Garnier today, following her recently announced exit from French Vogue as Editor in Chief. The decision comes nearly four months after the passing of Garnier's father and former CEO, Louis Garnier. A man heralded as a business genius for the expansion of Garnier into the European and American markets, and viewed as a patron of the arts for youth and performers alike. The impact of this announcement has been astronomical for Garnier's stock, which has jumped in the days since the announcement, for the first time since Louis Garnier's passing. However, many are seemingly skeptical of the new CEO's path to success.
Many critics citing the dozens of alleged and anonymous reports detailing Marguerite Garnier's unconfirmed history with substance abuse and addiction throughout her time at the publication. Additionally, others have questioned Garnier's credentials, seeing as she has never formally held a role within the company prior.Garnier's Chief Operating Officer, Lawrence Chauffer gave the following statement to PGM reporter Makayla Rush earlier this evening:
"I have no doubt in mind that Marguerite will succeed. The Garnier brand has been family run and operated for over a century, why would that change now? Marguerite is an operative and intelligent woman."
Supporters for Garnier have come from all sides of the business world, however little can be found from the new CEO herself, as Garnier and her team have been unavailable for comment. Sources saying that Garnier is still deep in recovery from last month's assault from the now deceased waiter, Andrew Dodds, which occurred during business and media mogul Logan Roy's daughter's wedding—Siobhan Roy.
Others have seen Garnier linked with Kendall Roy, the second son to the fore-mentioned Logan Roy—who recently has made headlines for backing out of a deal and bearhug stimulated by shareholders Sandy Furness and Stewy Hosseini via a holding company.
The two, Kendall and Marguerite, have been linked since Siobhan's wedding to Tom Wambsgans. However, sources close to the couple have said the two have a "complicated" history, and have always had feelings for one another——"
With that, the woman had turned her television off, staring at the screen blankly, before bending over and snorting a line of the white powder spread across her glass coffee table—twitching her nose a little after as she looked across her apartment.
Since the events of the wedding, Marguerite had torn her apartment to pieces, having sent her old furniture, or rather her father's into storage, and hired a new decorator to tear everything out. Now her home felt relatively empty. She'd made the walls barren, moving all of the art into the master bedroom, and then repainted the stark white throughout to become an emerald green.
She'd placed new tables, new sofas, appliances, everything.
Trying to erase memories of everything that had happened prior to the wedding. But it's ultimately hard to erase the person that you still are.
In fact, Marguerite Garnier had been left to play doctor and brain surgeon while Kendall went to dry himself out in Norway.
On the flight back from England, he had looked like a ghost.
As if he'd been strangled, or had shifted into the shell of the boy he had once been. He wouldn't elaborate, or explain to her what had happened. What his father had done to snag him, ensnare him.
He had barely spoken, and had instead curled up onto her lap on the sofa, his head sitting against her legs, as she lovingly stroked his head. Occasionally, she'd go to the bathroom and take a bump into her system.
