Chapter 28-

"What? They're coming now?" I ask, suddenly scared beyond imagination. I grab Josh's hand, feeling as if I'm about to hyperventilate. Everyone looks around at each other with wide eyes.

"Yes. They must have decided now is the best time to attack. So we must be ready. Come now." He says, turning back around. He moves quickly towards the door and we have no choice but to follow. Students rush around us like they've known this day was coming. Everyone is grabbing weapons and running to different places. It's all I can do to stay out of the way.

My grandfather leads us towards his office. Right beside of his office, he waves his hand, saying words so fast I can't tell. Doors open along the wall. When I look inside them I see weapons. A bunch of weapons and almost ancient armor and shields. Everyone rushes in.

"Grab whatever you need." Grandfather says, gesturing to it. "It's for extra protection besides your powers."

I walk in, grabbing a pouch. In it are ninja stars. I also grab a sword that I put in my belt. I see my friends grabbing weapons, too. Josh grabs a bow and a quiver of arrows. Lexi grabs a few knives, sticking them in her belt and shoe. Caralynn waves a spear around. Jonah loads a gun. Everyone prepares.

"You know most schools wouldn't let their students have weapons." I try to joke with my grandfather. To my surprise, he smiles.

"Most schools wouldn't let their students fight in a battle to the death, either." He says. It makes me smile just a little bit before nerves make me feel like I have a rock in my stomach.

Soon, I'm following my grandfather outside, my friends and the rest of the school behind us. We stand in front of the school as if we're protecting it, as if we're ready. I don't think I'm ready. I shake my head, trying to find some inner strength. But I'm not ready...

Then, Josh takes my hand. Sera takes my other. Then everyone takes the other's hand until we have a long wall of thirteen. They seem to give me my strength. I take a deep breath, wiping away the tears that come to my eyes.

"I haven't known you all long, but I love you guys," I say, biting my lip. They each look at me, a few saying they love me back. They each look at each other, talking as if this will be the last time we're all together. Josh lets go of my hand for a second, hugging me close and giving me a short but passionate kiss. I'm reluctant to let go, so I just hug him close for a second. It seems I can hear all the goodbye's around us.

"Seraphina, if we survive this, I'm going to marry you." I can hear Nalin, his voice muffled from where his face is buried in Sera's hair. Sera chokes back a sob as she hugs him.

"You're going to survive this, Samantha. I love you." Andy whispers to Samantha.

"I love you, Lexi," Ellie says. "God is with us. The Light will win."

"Try to stay out of most of the fighting. Okay, Claire? Try not to get hurt." Jonah says.

"I'm going to help, Jonah. I don't care." She says, trying to stay strong.

Then, I don't hear anything anymore. I just seeing Them emerging from the trees. I can see some of their golden eyes from here. Reaper and Jezebel smile at us as they seem to stalk forward in slow motion. But as soon as I blink, it seems like they're too close. I wish I could just push them back. My powers seem to respond. The wind blows hard, almost knocking a few people down. A wall of fire spreads out in front of us. I swear I can hear Reaper's dark laugh from here. He waves his hand and the bright fire suddenly turns dark green. It turns on us, rushing towards me. I gasp out from the brief pain as the fire changes.

The fire shoots towards us and I close my eyes before it hits us. I hear a hiss before I open my eyes. They meet the bright golden ones of Reaper. He chuckles as I jerk back. Then he puts his hand on my cheek as if he might kiss me. But as he leans forward, his hand moves down to my throat, crushing the air out of me.

"Don't touch her!" Josh growls, whispering a spell. Reaper lets go of me, turning back to Josh, smiling.

"Oh, no. That won't work on me." He smiles. Josh's eyes blaze as he lunges towards Reaper. As soon as he touches him, they disappear. I cry out when I see them transported to the other side of the building. They continue to disappear and reappear around in various places.

Then things really start to get crazy.

Okay, guys. Question: Do you want part of the fight today and part tomorrow (It's going to be split up into maybe four parts)? Or the whole half tomorrow (hopefully that makes sense xD)?
