I looked up at Tiara as I finished tying her shoes, I could tell she was confused by the words that I just said. She just sat there looking at me, she didn't even ask about birds or the weather- but I was too preoccupied with the thoughts in my head. I still couldn't wrap my head around the fact that he was gone.
Mitsuba was gone.
I flinched at the repeated comment in my head. It was all I could think about lately. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get the fact out of my head that he was gone.
I shot a quick smile before shaking my head, standing up straight before helping Tiara up. "Nevermind that, let's go get some pastries at your favorite shop." I looked down at Tiara as I held her hand and walked out of her bedroom. "Yeah! I'm gonna get ALLLL the pastries!" She giggled as she skipped down the steps to the first floor of our residence, but I was in no rush.
I couldn't find it in myself to rush around. Not after what happened—not after what I let Mitsuba go through all those months ago.
