"So her stay there was extended? " The curious man asked, to which Candela nodded and put her blouse back on.

"She was supposed to stay in New York only for a few days, but due to minor problems, she's been sitting there for a week now." The gray-haired girl sighed and looked at her boyfriend, who was very interested in her stories. "I'm sure it's a little harder for her to keep things under control with this Billy guy with her. Narin must keep an eye on him all the time, because if the boy dies, she'll fail her dear guardian and won't complete the job for the first time."

"Why did the assassin agree to protect someone? " A tall blond man asked he was lying on a hotel bed covered only by a light duvet, revealing his muscular torso and a bullet scar on his left arm. It was the same man Itzel had run into at the ball earlier. He was the boyfriend of young Candela. The woman, however, didn't tell Narin about his existence. She knew that this fact wouldn't please her friend, so she decided to delay this conversation as long as she could.

"It seems to me that there's only one answer. " She replied without thinking. Castro answered practically every question the blonde asked her. The woman didn't even think for a moment where these questions came from. "Bernardo." She looked at her boyfriend. "Narin owes him a lot. " She continued. "I think she only agreed to it because of him. He's her guardian, after all, or should I say... Father. Except they're not related by blood and all this shit. " She waved her hand. "But Bernardo has been taking care of her for many years and treats her like his own daughter, she's very dear to him. "

"M-hm... " The blond nodded in deep thought.

"But I guess we shouldn't focus on them right now, hm?" Castro smiled at her companion, then leaned over him and kissed him passionately, which he reciprocated.

"I'm just curious about your story. " Man said and tucked strands of her hair behind her ears. "Your life is much more interesting than mine, you know. " He smiled at her and stroked her cheeks. "Besides, I like listening to your voice." He added as she giggled softly.

"Isn't your life so interesting? " She repeated, turning her head to the side. "And where did that scar come from?" She pointed to the bullet scar.

"Ah, that's..." He glanced at the mentioned place. "Well, that was one of the most dangerous things that ever happened to me. I was finally able to go into the field, no longer had to sit behind a desk." He said. "The first time I left the office, and what?" He raised his eyebrows. "I shielded my client with my body." he said, which surprised Candela.

"You saved her life? "

"Yes, exactly. " He nodded. "Her ex-husband wanted to kill her because she decided to divorce him. The guy was drinking and doing drugs so the woman couldn't take it anymore, she wanted to leave... I helped her. Then, I managed to save her but... "

"What was next? " She asked gently stroking her boyfriend's shoulder. "You talk about her so nicely..." She noted. "She was someone close to you, wasn't she?" She looked into his eyes.

"Well, I won't lie. " He nodded. "I fell in love with her. " He admitted after a moment. "She was truly an amazing woman... "

"So what happened? " The curious assassin asked. "Did you guys break up? "

"Not really. " Man became much sadder. "She died."

"What?! " Woman was surprised.

"Are you sure you want to know? " He glanced at her. "Do you really want to hear a story about the woman I loved? You don't mind? "

"No. Why? " She replied right away. "I want to know you better. " She smiled at him and kissed him on the cheek. "Tell me. "

The blond sighed, then collected his thoughts and continued.
