Narin spent her last days taking care of her guardian. The woman preferred to make sure what his health was and to be sure that Torres would listen to the doctors' recommendations. Therefore, recently, the assassin took only quick and easy orders, wanting to return to the sick as soon as possible.
Her mind kept spinning about the person who had attacked Bernardo. Vazquez also conducted her own little investigation on this subject, for which Mauricio provided her with additional information. But the trader hadn't told her everything yet. Sam already knew the whole truth about Thiago, but decided not to give this information to Narin, not yet. He knew that the mulatto girl had a lot on her mind lately anyway, and besides, he preferred to see her caring and taking care of her guardian, than how she went on a rampage again, murdering anyone who got in her way. So he decided to wait a while longer.
Today, however, a trial was scheduled for Billy Morales to testify.
Narin was on her feet from the very morning, properly preparing for today's event. While Billy was with her uncle at his villa, she returned to her little house to take a warm bath and change clothes for the trial.
While Vazquez was sitting in the tub, already taking a relaxing bubble bath, she was visited by Mauricio, whom she spoke to through the open bathroom door. The presence of the trader didn't bother her.
"So it's today, huh? " Brunet said, looking in the meantime into her fridge and taking one beer. He opened the bottle and walked to the bathroom, leaning against the doorframe. "Do you think Amarillo will keep the deal?" He asked, looking at his bathing companion.
"Judging from what he's learned about his brother, I think so, yeah." She replied, wiping her arm with her hand and glancing briefly at Serrano. "Is that my beer?" She asked, frowning, and the man just laughed at her words.
"To your health, love. " He lifted the bottle and took a sip of his drink, the smile still not leaving his face. Narin just shook her head, but didn't hide her amusement. "If not Amarillo himself, then his brother can still do something. It doesn't matter if it's in court or outside. " He sighed.
"Mm. " She nodded. "So I'll be prepared for that." She added with a smile as she looked at him. "Will you give me that hair tie?" She asked, pointing to the mentioned object lying on the sink in the bathroom.
Serrano nodded, took what he needed, then crouched next to Narin's tub and handed her a hair tie.
"Gracias. " She said with a smile and tied her hair in a ponytail.
Mauricio, meanwhile, sat next to her on the floor and leaned his back against the wall, sipping his beer.
"You know what will happen next? " He asked, looking at the mulatto. "When the trial is over." Said. "What will happen to Billy?"
"I don't know. " She shrugged. "Berni will probably send him home or..." She wondered. "I have no idea." She sighed and washed herself with more water.
"Maybe he'll want to stay here. " Brunet said thoughtfully.
"Who? Bill? " She glanced at her companion in surprise, to which the trader nodded. "Why would he stay here?" She asked, and Mauricio wiggled his eyebrows playfully. "Pff. " She snorted and splashed him with water, which only made him laugh more. "You'd better give me a drink, I can't make it through this sober." She said, reaching for her beer.
Still amused, Serrano handed her the bottle and rested his elbow on his right knee, still sitting on the ground next to Narin, who was bathing.
"What about this psychologist? " He asked after a moment. "Apart from the fact that you swore at Bernardo..." He laughed at the memory. "What are you going to do about it?" He glanced at her. "Will you go?"
