Narin and her friends were getting ready to save Billy Morales. They weren't sure if the boy was still alive, they could only hope. Bernardo's men discreetly found out where the boy was being held, but the killers also realized that a trap might be waiting for them, so they wanted to think everything over carefully.

At some point, Candela also joined them, but Narin didn't receive her with a warm welcome.

"I want to help, hermana." The gray-haired woman said sadly. "It's my fault they kidnapped him. I want to help, fix my mistake. "

"No, Candela. " Mulatto interrupted her, hiding the additional weapon at the back of her belt. "I was the one who was tasked with keeping an eye on Bill. I shouldn't have left him alone. " She sighed and checked the cartridges in the rifle, which she also got from Mauricio.

"But the more hands to kill, the better, right? " Castro said. "I'll be useful to you."

Vazquez sighed then looked at her reluctantly.

"Go back to your place. " She said after a long moment. "The rest doesn't concern you anymore."

"B-But... Hermana! " She ran to her broken. "Is it because I have Thiago?" She cried, which caught the attention of Narin and the companions standing next to her. Mauricio and Itzel were also there, both readying their weapons while listening to the conversation.

"How long have you even known him, hm? " The black-haired girl asked.

"What's the difference? "

"How long? " Assassin repeated sternly.

"Um ... Maybe.. four months... " She replied after a while, at which Serrano laughed softly, and Vazquez only shook her head in disbelief.

"So that long, huh? " Narin snorted, then sighed again. "Do you know anything about him at all?"

"I do! " The gray-haired girl exclaimed immediately.

"Then share this information with us. " Itzel interjected while briefly glancing at her friend. "I'd love to hear it myself."

"E-eh..." Castro scratched her neck and then thought for a long moment. Only now she realize that she knew practically nothing about the man she was dating. All she knew was his name and the stories of his former lover. Everything else was a great unknown to her.

"Keep talking, don't interrupt yourself. " Amused trader interjected. "Ah, it's such a beautiful story. " He groaned and placed his hand over his heart. "I'm so moved now!" He called and walked towards Narin. He put his hand on her shoulder and she immediately looked at him. "I'll go first." He was directing his words directly at the black-haired woman. "I'll survey the area and take my place. We'll be in touch. " He smiled.

Vazquez nodded. She wanted to say more but stopped herself, aware of the presence of Itzel and Candela. Mauricio noticed that and guessed what his companion was thinking.

"I'll be alright. " He whispered in her ear, making sure only she could hear him.

Narin nodded again at his words and then glanced at the brunet standing right next to her. Mauricio, seeing her look, smiled warmly at her, then patted her head and left the room, taking his sniper rifle at the same time. The mulatto followed him with her eyes, and when the boy disappeared behind the door, the woman sighed heavily and looked at the prepared weapon.

"Are you sure you want to come with me? " She asked, glancing at Itzel.

The black assassin smiled upon hearing her words.

"I'll follow you to hell, reinita." She said.

"Narin." Castro interjected again. "I won't let you down this time." She said, trying to hold back tears. "I promise."

"Don't make empty promises. " Assassin replied coldly, which made the younger woman even more sad.

Itzel glanced at her, then back at Vazquez, then nudged the mulatto, catching her attention. Martinez nodded to her sad companion, and Narin only sighed, tilting her head up.

"All right. " She said after a long moment. "You'll go with Itzel. " She added looking at the black woman. "But when it's all over..." She looked at Candela again. "You're going to leave and be on your own. I've had enough of everything. " She said, collecting her guns. "Now get to work."

♦•♦•♦

Narin, along with two companions and some of Bernardo's men, were already heading towards the place where Billy was supposed to be held. The assassin's guardian was supposed to go with them, but just before leaving he received a sudden phone call, which, judging by his reaction, must've meant another serious trouble. Torres had to return to his villa and was to join the others as soon as he had dealt with the problem.

"You're worried about Bernardo? " Itzel asked curiously, while they were still driving towards the agreed place.

"His reaction was quite strange. " Mulatto replied in deep thought. "I don't like this..." She glanced at her companion. "I have a feeling there's something much deeper behind it." She sighed.

Her hunch was right.

The day the gangsters kidnapped Billy was planned in advance by Thiago Pérez himself, but Narin didn't know it yet. The blond had been planning to destroy the assassin's plans for a long time, and when he saw that Candela had brought Billy with her, he felt that he had been given a chance by fate. It was he who informed the gangsters about the whereabouts of their target. He wanted to hurt his enemy with this, to weaken her and take advantage of the opportunity. His plan was complex and took time, but the wait was worth it. Everything was going his way now.

The plan to keep Bernardo at home was also his. The whole situation of cooperation with the policemen was very handy for Thiago. At the same time, he was implementing a plan of his own making, setting another trap. He wanted to take away from Narin all the people close to her. And now, he was planning to take away her beloved guardian, her father. Bernardo Torres.
