Over the next few days, Narin and Mauricio worked out a plan to fight Sadik Reis. They wanted to find as much information as possible not only from the documents and information that Serrano had, they also looked much deeper. They searched the Internet, hacked into several databases and looked at the contents of police reports. It took them quite a long time, but as it turned out later, it was worth it.
They got to the most secret information that Arda kept from everyone. It turned out that while he was in the army and when he returned from it, he was with a woman who died of an illness. But she left something behind. Namely, a daughter. Arda Sadik Reis had a daughter, whom he hid from the whole world and the evil he surrounded himself with. Not even Sebastian Serrano, the trader's father, knew about it. Arda wanted to protect his child, so he handed her over to the care of the babysitter who had previously watched over the care of Sadik Reis' deceased beloved. The soldier took care to hide them in a safe place, away from wars. But even so, the father returned to his child once in a while. He always wanted to be with his daughter on her most important day, her birthday. And while he was in prison, he used friends and other people to deliver his letters to his daughter.
Mauricio foresaw the fact that his enemy would probably want revenge over time, so the young trader devised a contingency plan that he started working with years ago. Namely, Serrano discovered the fact that Arda has a daughter and that he really want to protect her, so the young man decided to take advantage of it. It also helped that the girl didn't know their history and had no idea who Mauricio was. The trader first went to her, many years ago, and introduced himself under a different name. He worked out everything in such a way that his acquaintance with the girl remained a secret, even from her babysitter, whom Arda had hired. He found the child under a completely different name, the name of the babysitter, Defne Bardot. The daughter of Arda, her name was Banou, and she lived with the elder Bardot in a small village in the other part of the country.
When Sadik Reis's young daughter once decided to take advantage of the babysitter's absence, she got into the car to go for a short drive around the neighborhood. Mauricio faked an accident in which he himself was involved, he was as an injured victim who was hit by a girl. Terrified, Banou didn't want to get into more trouble for disobeying her babysitter and getting behind the wheel without an adult's knowledge. Serrano pretended to be injured, saying he was only a little sore and had a sprained leg. Brunet told the terrified girl that he would not report it anywhere and this matter would remain between them. These words pleased the unaware girl, who agreed to the proposal and promised to take care of him, to support him in his treatment. Mauricio met her secretly from time to time and he managed to gain her trust. Banou considered him a very close friend she could rely on. What she didn't realize, however, was that the words the trader was telling her, were lies.
Well, Mauricio had another goal. He told the young girl about himself and made the stories he told much more colorful. The fact that the girl didn't like her father, who in her opinion ignored her and didn't care about her at all, made the brunet very happy. Serrano took advantage of her resentment towards her own parent. And when he was telling stories about his childhood, said that it was her father who murdered Sebastian, the only parent of a trader. He told how bad person Arda Sadik Reis is and said that after the death of his own father, Mauricio broke down completely. He instilled in the young girl fairy tales that he really was on good terms with his father, and Sadik Reis took him away from him, so that at a young age he lost the only person close to him, his father, Sebastian.
Banou believed his every word, and her resentment towards her father grew more and more, and this only made Mauricio happy. Now, the trader wanted to use this against his opponent.
Perhaps Arda has more combat experience, but what will he do when he comes to fight an emotional battle. What will happen when his daughter gets in his way?
"Are you sure Sadik Reis is in town?" Narin asked, putting the gun next to the brunet.
"I am." He replied, stealing a glance at her. Serrano scanned the maps of Coyoacán again. "We'll have to act sooner than we thought." He sighed. "And it's in the open area." He looked at his friend then added. "He sent me a letter with another strand of aunt Ximney's hair..." He shook his head. "He wants to meet me at Fuente de los Coyotes. " He announced what surprised the assassin. "Tomorrow at noon. "
"The guy will be surprised to see such a surprise."
"Definitely." He replied with slight amusement. "We'll stick to the plan and watch from the right places. "
"In an open area." Vazquez said thoughtfully.
"Mm, among people." Brunet added. "He does it on purpose. It'll be easier for him to blend in with the crowd."
"So we'll have to do it too." The mulatto girl looked at the trader. "And then..." She sighed and looked at her companion. "I hope your plan works."
"Me too." He replied while looking at her. " I've been working on this guy for many years, and now that the opportunity arises... I hope everything goes according to plan." He shook his head.
"You look down." Narin walked over to him.
"Maybe a little... " Brunet sighed. "I'm no saint, but the fact that I'm using this kid to..."
"Mauricio." Mulatto interjected. "No man is blameless." She said. "We're at war, and the only thing that counts here is the winning side, which will be us." She placed a hand on her companion's shoulder. "It's the strong and clever who will survive. You have to fight to win, otherwise you're lost." She said. "We've both done a lot worse than this, don't you think?" She asked softly, meeting his gaze.
"You're right." He replied after a long moment. "But that doesn't change the fact that I feel guilty. Just a little bit..."
"Well then, we're gonna burn in hell, babe." She turned her head to the side, smiling at the brunet.
Serrano returned the gesture.
"Together?" He asked, carefully examining her with his gaze.
Narin was silent for a short while, but the smile never left her face.
Mulatto nodded.
"Together, pachuco." She replied.
