Haetae.
In Korean folklore, the haetae is a scaled goat-like creature that was believed to know right from wrong, and helped pass judgement on guilty and innocent parties.
Choi Gayoung is the last known Haetae to exist in the world. Lee Yeon is...

The day after the Third Quarter moon was... eventful, to say the least. Gayoung thought that the morning after wouldn't be stressful; her boyfriend was here, she and Yeon had somewhat mended the gap between them, and she had her powers back. Overall, the morning after should have been just the three of them getting off the island, reporting what happened to Yeomna and Taluipa, and moving on to whatever came next.
But, of course, reality wasn't so simple and sweet like that. A quick one last look of the island before their departure and the three were stunned to find out that the island had magically lost it's entire population of citizens. Except for one. Pyung Hee.
As Gayoung realized Pyung Hee was still alive, a flood of relief swept over her. She wasn't killed by Lee Rang. Gayoung was conflicted after realizing this since, on the one hand, he allowed her to think terribly about him since he didn't care if others only ever thought of him as something nasty, evil, or a twisted half-breed, but she felt horrible for feeling that way about someone who was supposed to be her friend.
When they weren't on the island and her head on was straight then she would apologize and then punch him on the shoulder for not even trying to defend himself to her. All the three could do was call in the disappearance to the human police force, found a bunch of flags at the beach meant for welcoming the dragon king, but it was set in the wrong direction so they weren't sure on who the humans were welcoming but knew it couldn't be anyone with a heart of gold.

"Give me your phone."
"Can you give me a reason or a please first before you start demanding something from me?" Gayoung quickly retorted, rolling her eyes at Yeon. "Why are you even here? You're taking up my time meant for actual clients, you know."
A two-piece, all-black, custom-made suit was her uniform for her day back at the office. Her blazer was drabbed on the back of her chair, and her white silk blouse was on display. Gayoung felt Yeon's eyes on her when he walked into her admittedly cramped office. She shared the space with no one; she never had a partner or a second desk brought into the room as far as she could remember, and having Yeon in here felt oddly intimate. She could hold her arm out, and her hand would be right in front of his face.
"Please, give me your phone," Yeon tried again. "I need to put my number on your speed dial."
"For what?" She asked him, looking at him oddly.
"To make it easier for the two of us to contact each other. With how much it seems like we're working on the same cases, it makes sense to make calling each other easier," Yeon explained, sitting on a leather chair on the other side of her desk. "When I lost you in the forest last night, if we had an easy way of contacting each other, I could have done something about you getting kidnapped and saved us more trouble."
