"Ma'am, is this really all we can do for your friend?" Choi Jun-Woong, Jumadeung's infamous half-dead, half-alive reaper, asked his team leader, Kim Hwayoung.
Well, the name she was last born with was Zhuang Lingxin, but names mean nothing when you've been on the planet since the first humans were walking around and you had as many names as there were stars in the universe.
"Unfortunately yes. Gayoung's trapped in a dream created to fulfill her greatest dreams and wishes. If we were to try and go in there now, her subconscious would kick us out or try and kill us to preserve the happy atmosphere." Lingxin told him, looking down at her longtime friend with a look that conveyed worry.
It was hard to tell if she actually felt anything with how seriously she took her job of saving suicidal people and keeping the balance between life and death. Jun-Woong certainly knew that trying to decipher anything from or about her was about as hard as trying to get anything back from the Library of Alexandria.
"All we can do right now is hope that this plan of Shin-joo's actually works." She said, turning her gaze to the worried Gumiho.
Shin-joo didn't really explain the plan, but she figured it out pretty quickly. They brought Gayoung and Yeon together in a room, putting a red bracelet on their wrists and ergo connecting them to each other on a level while they both continued to experience their worst fears. Lingxin looked at the blood-soaked shirt that Gayoung was wearing and frowned in worry at the fact that the Spirit of Darkness had done so much damage to her already.
"Waiting around while you can't do anything is really painful, isn't it?" Jun-Woong asked the black-haired woman, who quickly returned to looking cold.
"Time is irrelevant when you're as old as I am, Jun-Woong. All we can do is hope Gayoung is strong enough to return to reality on her own."
