In Korean folklore, the haetae is a scaled goat-like creature that was believed to know right from wrong, and helped pass judgement on guilty and innocent parties.
Choi Gayoung is the last known Haetae to exist in the world. Lee Yeon is...

One would think that going on a date after finding out you had only two more days to live was a rather stupid thing to do. But for Yeon and Gayoung they needed some good memories to combat all the negativity and gloom surrounding their lives right now.
So they got dressed for breakfast. Yeon, the hopelessly in love fox he was, practically cheered when he saw that he had unknowingly ended up matching with Gayoung when he put on his gray and white striped suit. When he pointed this out to his girlfriend while they headed over to the restaurant she rolled her eyes before kissing his cheek. He grinned at the affection and squeezed her hand that he was holding because "he was worried about her hands getting cold".
They ended up back at the same restaurant where Yeon gave Gayoung her "new" promise ring and Gyeong-su, a male hawk that was somewhere between three and four hundred years old and had been the owner of the restaurant for ten years now, nearly killed Gayoung with embarrassment for how she used to act. They sat down at a table in the center of the restaurant, immediately getting the menu's from some young woman who smelled like a fairy, to which she did have the near glowing green eyes for it, she left and they looked over for what they wanted to eat. It wasn't too long that they had plates of assorted grilled meats in front of them, marinated beef short ribs on the side and organic tofu stew as well.
"Don't you want to greet Gyeong-su while we're here?" Yeon asked her, while putting some finished grilled pork on her plate.
"You do realize if I do he'll probably wave our bill?" She returned his question with one of her own, putting the beef short ribs on the grill so they could cook awhile longer.
Yeon froze for a moment at that. His chopstick full of pork meant for her was hovering over her plate and she wondered if she should use her own chopsticks to take it for herself or focus on the short ribs only. After Yeon seemed to finally come to a conclusion in his head he put the pork down on her plate and then shook his head to himself.
"Yeah, no never mind. Last time already made me feel bad enough and if he waves off our bill again I'm going to have to start working for him to pay him back." Yeon told her, sounding more than bothered by the idea alone. Gayoung chuckled at his protests about getting yet another free meal finding him adorable in this moment.
She checked on the ribs and after seeing they had simmered for long enough she began putting a few for herself and for her boyfriend. She let out an annoyed huff when her hair, that extended just past her shoulders, started being annoyed and getting in her way so she brushed it back with one hand. She was unaware that in the midst of her actions Yeon had taken to staring at her lovingly and with amusement. And unbeknownst to both of them they were silently getting fawned over by the other patrons who thought they looked "absolutely adorable next to each other and it's so obvious he's in love with her".
