'What am I doing right now?' Gayoung thought, staring at Yeon's sleeping figure. She had finished cleaning, applying medicine, wrapping him and his wounds with stretch, white band-aids. 'Bringing him here, acting like a nurse, talking to him so openly about my family, the past, even bickering with him as if nothing ever happened. Is that the right thing to do? Do I even care if it's right or not?'

She didn't know what to do now when it came to this situation, she and Wol-yeong hadn't even properly broken up yet, and yet here she was. Tending to her almost husband in a situation where to anyone just passing by would think that there was something going on between them and if they read her mind they would only be convinced by how much she was thinking about him.

Gods above she didn't even want to try and think about how this would affect Rang if he ever found out about this. Just the mention of Yeon sent his mind to places she could either barely pull him away from or she'd lose him to his paranoid and diabolical thinking where Yu-ri was more than happy to indulge his plans. She knew if she'd ever even try to talk today's events or her feelings he'd see it as nothing but a betrayal and hate her for it for the rest of however long they had left.

She puffed her cheeks, letting out a long breath, before pulling up her bed covers to reach Yeon's chin. There was nothing more she could say or do tonight. She would just have to wait to see what tomorrow brought her. She lightly patted the comforter and gray blanket before standing up and walking over to her dresser. She opened the dresser for her sleeping clothes, pulling out her lavender silk pajamas, and then headed out to her couch to finally get some sleep for the night.

The Next Morning

Yeon, to no one's suprise, was waiting for Gayoung. Specifically, to come back so he could admire her again and to quell this feeling of missing her. He knew she was only a few steps away but it did nothing to pacify this feeling of emptiness.

He was beginning to ponder if he should knock over her little alarm clock that looked like she kept from the 80's when he heard her footsteps coming toward him. He sat up straighter against his wall of pillows, grinning when he saw a still half-asleep Gayoung walk into her bedroom, stared at him for a moment, before pulling her ottoman over to the side of her bed.

"You should be sleeping in, not be awake at 7 in the morning." She said, her voice still a bit raspy from having just woken up.

"You try staying comfortable while you're a walking pin cushion," He retorted, softly smiling at her.

Gayoung rolled her eyes at him but said nothing in retaliation. She pulled down her bed sheets to his lap, looking over the band-aids to see if any of his wounds had started bleeding again, ignoring Yeon's eyes practically burning holes into the side of her head, before letting out a sigh.
