"I hope you're happy

"I hope you're happy. I had to convince Yeon to come here despite him wanting to leave you to face whatever problem you have by yourself. I was in a shitty mood, and your sudden demands to see the both of us didn't help at all." Ga-young ranted at Rang, smacking him lightly upside the head as she walked past him to stand on the other side of the table.

"Don't lie to yourself, Yongie. You're happy to see me just like I am you," Rang replied, rubbing the back of his head and giving her a childish grin. "We both know that even if Yeon had decided not to come, you would have. You're too nice, Yongie."

"And you're incapable of ignoring trouble if it means getting what you want," Gayoung instantly retorted, glancing around the closed space with a hardly noticeable frown. "I should kick your ass for the trouble you sent my way at the funeral."

"I did that as a favor to the both of us. I know you hate that Ji-ah woman, and so did I. If you hadn't stuck your nose in, we would have been rid of one annoying fly." Rang countered, pointing at Gayoung.

The Haetae swatted his hand away, knowing he was barely holding back a cat pun. She continued to look down at him in disapproval as she remembered her near-fatal end and all that had happened between her and Yeon since then. She knew that it wasn't his intent to cause the canyon-sized divide between her and Yeon to slowly shrink and shake her to her core at the realization that something still existed between them, but that was the effect of his actions. She knew that he had no idea that in his haste to bloody his hands again by killing Ji-ah, she'd discover she could reverse time, which meant she could heal wounds, and there was some odd string of fate connecting her to Imoogi, A-eum, and everything else terrible that had been happening lately.

"You know, even if you are drunk out of your mind like you were the other night, I'd go to save Ji-ah despite my personal feelings. I almost died, and your brother almost got killed while trying to come early," She told him, not surprised to see the lack of care in his eyes. "Why am I even bothering to tell you this when you don't even care?"

Rang let out a long sigh, turning his head to the side and shaking his head slightly.

"Yeon and I aren't going back to how we once were, Yeongie. That ship's long since passed," He told her, knowing that the bitter truth was a hard pill to swallow for her, but it wasn't as if he could lie to her. "Believe it or not, I'm trying to protect you here. Although I haven't had much luck with how often you've been getting involved."

"Protect me? Do you even know how absurd that sounds with everything that's happened to me lately because of this strife between you and Yeon?" She asked him, hating how she couldn't be mad at him because he was telling her the truth.
