So, fair warning. These next couple of chapters are almost exactly like ones I wrote in falling from grace. The only reason both have these scenes, is because my original plan was to converge all the unfinished stories I had into one sloppy story, and I just couldn't make it work. Too much going on in each story to keep the details straight. Just wanted to warn you in case you've read that other story.

Marinette

"Oh my god."

"Don't freak. It's not that bad." Alya assured her, but never the less, tears still formed in her eyes.

"I tried to kill him."

"No, you didn't."

"He almost died eating one of my croissants." She choked out, looking to Alya in horror.

Nino was glancing between the two, looking uneasy.

"It was his own stupidity and you know that."

"He was so desperate to keep me from making more that he tried to off himself Alya!"

Nino ceremoniously grabbed the half eaten croissant off the floor with a napkin, before dumping it in the trash. He seemed to do a small prayer over it, and when he turned, Marinette and Alya were both gaping at him.

"What?"

"Be serious at a time like this." Alya hissed, and Marinette draped herself over one of the chairs, sobbing dramatically.

"His father is going to send me to prison for attempted murder and all I'll have left are dreams." She whined, burying her face into the back of the chair.

He had practically turned purple in front of her.

"He isn't going to tell his father. He seemed more scared that you were going to call someone than he was of dying."

She stopped, slowly looking up at Nino.

"My god. He could have died and the last thing he would have remembered was me traumatizing him??"

"Nino!" Alya snapped, and Marinette covered her face, trying to stop the onslaught of tears.

She had almost murdered the love of her life.

"I'm sorry."

They all jumped at Adrien's voice, and she peeked out at him from the chair. His face was a normal color again, and he looked at her earnestly.

"Why are you crying?"

"Tell her that it was not her fault. You choked because you tried to cram it down your throat."

Alya rubbed her back, and Adrien sat down across from her.

"It had nothing to do with the pastry Marinette. I've been a little stressed today-"

"No kidding." Nino muttered, and Adrien shot him a glare.

"Anyway, I've been stressed. I was really distracted and I didn't want you to think I didn't like them, because this bakery is like the best in the world. I shouldn't have tried to eat it so fast."

She wiped her eyes, embarrassed to have been crying in front of him.

"You're okay?"

"Of course."

She stared at him for a moment, before quickly nodding and looking away.

"Okay. Why were you stressed?"
