Adrien

He was nauseous. So, so incredibly sick. Which completely sucked, as it was the only day off he had gotten in a week. His mind was running wild with scenarios, of what that dream could have possibly meant. Ladybug hadn't returned a single call of his, and the panic was starting to eat him from the inside out.

"If you keep making those sounds I swear on my camembert that I'm going to cataclysm your vocal cords." Plagg hissed in annoyance, and Adrien shot him a glare.

"Would it kill you to show a little compassion?"

"Probably." Plagg snorted, before flying over to his holder.

"What exactly is bothering you?"

"I could give you a list."

"You only have one day off. Not enough time to write one that long."

Adrien rolled his eyes, picking up his phone. He wished she had just given him her number.

"No. You are not transforming to call her again."

"Plagg this is serious. What if something is wrong? What if this is one of those side effects? What if hawkmoth is somehow getting into our dreams?"

"And attacking the fish?"

Adrien let out a frustrated groan, grabbing a t-shirt.

"What are you doing?"

"We're going out. I'm going to go insane."

"As long as I don't have to deal with you pacing the room fine."

* * * * *

"You're unbelievable." Plagg hissed, and Adrien ignored him, continuing his pacing across the park.

No acuma attacks. None since destroying the miraculous. Why would he destroy them? Or damage them? He wanted them. Didn't he? Unless he had some sort of way to repair them. What was he waiting for? A breaking point? Someone showing side effects? He stopped pacing, glancing around the park warily. No, pacing wasn't a side effect. He ran a hand through his hair, nudging Plagg.

"No word?"

"I told you. Ten times. No."

Sometimes he wanted to strangle his kwami. He had every right to be worried.

"Hey Adrien!"

He jumped what had to be at least ten feet, before looking towards the voice. Nino waved his hand, and Alya glanced up from her phone, then back down to it again. He walked over, trying to put his nerves on pause.

"Hey guys. What are you two up to?"

"Intervention."

Alya looked up at him as she spoke, and he wanted to shy away. Intervention for what?

"Want to come with us?" Nino asked hopefully, and Adrien rubbed the back of his neck.

He didn't need anything else stressing him out.

"It's for Marinette."

Alya slid her phone into her pocket, crossing her arms.

"What's wrong with Marinette?"

"Haven't you noticed? She looks ready to collapse at any second. She's losing it dude."

He glanced at Nino, quickly looking away again. He couldn't bail on her, even with everything going on.

"She's literally losing it. She called me at five am asking me riddles. Riddles Adrien. At five am. Marinette doesn't get up at five am. I'm worried. She's been falling asleep in class. Yesterday we had plans to work on new layout designs for the Ladyblog, and she ghosted me. She seems so out of it."
