2 days before Thanksgiving.

November 24,
3:45 pm

I purchased the tickets for Jo and I to fly to Ohio. I don't think I've ever been so reluctant to put in my card information. If it wasn't for the phone call I had with Joseph last night, I probably wouldn't have bought them.

"I'm really proud of you, Eden. It'll be good for you. I'm sure they're really excited to see you."

His words play in my head as I save the tickets to my email. I know they're excited to see me, they wouldn't of asked me to come if they weren't. With Jo tagging along I'm scared that it will upset them. I let Sara know, and she was more than excited to meet him. I'm sure my parents don't understand why; I wouldn't be surprised if they still hadn't looked into the show since I told them I was going to be in it.

We have the rest of the day to pack and prepare since our flight is at 6 in the morning. Buying plane tickets right before a holiday was probably not a good idea. I wanted to get there the day of Thanksgiving, but it looks like we'll either be staying the night or finding a hotel.

"Are you planning to stay until Christmas?" Jo asks from the threshold of my bedroom door.

I turn around and plop my behind on my bed, surrounded by piles of clothes and other miscellaneous items.

"I don't think I could handle that." I laugh pitifully.

"Well, whatever you do, make sure you're back home by New Years. The group is wanting to go to New York." Jo announces.

I almost choke from his words in complete shock.

"New York?! I've always wanted to go there!" I stand up and jump up and down like a child.

I hear Jo laugh as I spin around in circles in the middle of my bedroom.

"Alright, alright!" He calms me down. "We were thinking on leaving the 30th so we had a whole day to plan everything out. Just make sure you're home by then, if you're wanting to go."

"Damn right, I wanna go!" I speak ecstatically.

I never would've imagined I'd travel to London and New York within the year, let alone in the span of just a few months. Hell, I never thought I'd go ever.

A few more hours pass of talking about New York and packing. I keep requesting different activities that we could do and places to see. I also think to myself of different possibilities, like if it's the same as they show in movies. That's what made me fall in love.

"Do your parents know you're showing up early?" Jo asks.

I shrug, zipping up my suitcase.

"I told Sara, so I'm sure they know too. If not, and they don't like it, we'll find a hotel or something." I explain.

Jo lets out a quick laugh but tries to hide it. Once he sees that I've noticed, he grows embarrassed. I stare at him questioningly and wait for an explanation.

"I just think it's.. strange how normal you think that is." He starts.

I lower my brows more with great confusion. "What do you mean?"

He sits beside me on the bed and rests his elbows on his thighs. "I don't know. It's just crazy how your own parents would deny you a place to stay."

I take in a deep breath along with his words. I want to choose my response carefully and not come off as snappy. I know he's not trying to judge, or be rude, but I can't help but to take offense.
