TW: Grief
She looks around the space, tears welling up in her eyes. She wants to run away, leave all these memories in the past. She wants little reels of happiness she can call on when she is drunk, not painful reminders of what she has lost being forced upon her.
Last night, Friday night, was the night she was introduced to the local Reapers. It was a long, tiring event, but having Taehyung and Yoongi there made her feel better. Especially after Taehyung started to become defensive towards any passing guy. It has been a while since she has seen him so protective. As much as she doesn't like that sort of ownership behaviour, a part of her liked it. It was like a little reminder that he does really love her.
She was worried about stepping into the role of leader so comfortably. People don't usually like a change in leadership. But once she said her name, everything changed. It was like she was a celebrity, minus the requests for autographs and pictures. They were awed by her.
She knew she had an effect on The Reapers and that people knew of her, but she didn't realise how legendary her actions were. She was not expecting to be so famous among them.
Today is Saturday. The worst day of her life.
Yesterday, she received a call from a lawyer requesting that she deals with the apartment Hoseok and Jimin lived in. She never realised that Hoseok put Jimin as his next of kin, or that Jimin put her as his next of kin. But after combing through the limited medical-legal information on Jimin and Hoseok, they landed on her. So, she has to deal with their belongings and decide what to do with the apartment.
That means today will be spent with Yoongi and Taehyung, numbly going through all of Jimin and Hoseok's belongings. It's strange seeing their lives spread out across the apartment, like a little memory reel of stories.
"Where do we want to start?" Yoongi asks softly, looking between the distraught individuals.
"Everything in the kitchen that is not a necessity can be delegated, donated, or thrown," Luna replies emotionlessly, "I'm going to start on Hoseok's room,"
"I'll help you, Yoongi," Taehyung croaks, following Yoongi into the kitchen, pulling apart garbage bags and opening boxes. Luckily, a cleaning crew has already removed all traces of the graphic murder scene, as if it never happened.
She wishes it never happened.
Luna moves down the hallway, holding a box and a bag, opening Hoseok's bedroom door. She looks around and begins.
Hoseok has a lot of figurines and books littered across his room. His computer only has video games and video streaming services, all of which she needs to unsubscribe from.
Sorting through his things has led her to more questions. How often did he play video games? Did he talk to Seokjin about his figurine collection? Did he read all of the books stacked along his shelf? Did he have plans for the expensive whiskey displayed on his desk?
Who was Jung Hoseok?
She has come to realise that she didn't really know Hoseok too well. His enforcement of the 'don't ask questions' rule led her to not be too curious about his life at all. Why did he join Seokjin? Why did he become an arms dealer? Why was he in the mafia in the first place? Why did he move to Korea when Grim told him to? Did Seokjin tell him to move too?
