Chapter Four

The next morning everyone was still asleep, JJ and Ruby tangled and cuddled up against each other as he used his cut off to block their faces from the sun.

Pope was the first one awake, a noise catching his attention and he soon realized that it was a plane.

Soon everyone else was up, sharing Pope's excitement- well except for JJ and Ruby.

The two shared a look. They didn't want to leave here, they didn't want to go back to Kildare where their lives were literal hell.

She looked up at JJ, her heart breaking as he had tears in his eyes, making her own tears form, she didn't know how to make this better.

" c'mon.." he muttered, and she nodded, gathering her things and zipping up her backpack.

" hey.. we'll find this place again.. I promise.." Ruby reassured, pulling out her digital camera.

He watched as she took a picture of the palm tree with the flag in it, giving him a reassuring smile before grabbing his hand.

The two made their way over to the plane, she immediately tugged his shirt- this guy didn't seem very trustworthy.

Ruby and Sage shared a look, they both were thinking the same thing- and by the way Sarah was eyeing the man up they knew she was also on their side.

" hey- hey c'mon this guy is just trying to help us.." John B tried reassuring, but Sage kept her eyes on the man, watching every movement he made.

She looked like she was ready to pounce at any moment. JJ kept his gaze on the sand, kicking it around as his jaw clenched- he didn't wanna go.

" can't we just wait for something else? This guy is sketchy and I don't have a good feeling.. the last time I didn't have a good feeling-" Ruby whispered then paused, shaking her head at the memory of JJ limp in her arms.

" I'm with Ruby on this one. What if this guy is working for my dad?" Sarah said, " this guy? Really?" John B questioned.

But the decision had already been made, John B eagerly going onto the plane, there was no going back now.

Ruby narrowed her eyes at Jimmy, pulling her arm away as he went to touch her- she glanced back, a frown forming on her lips, " so long paradise.." she mumbled and went into the plane.

She allowed JJ to pull her onto his lap, leaning back against him as his arms caged her in, resting his chin on her shoulder.

The plane shuttered as it took off, Ruby giving her twin a glare as the vibe only got worse for her.

She swore if they made it out of here alive, she'd kill him herself.
