They got out of the truck and went over to his boat, Ruby pausing as Rafe got on.
" You're gonna take me to him right..?" She asked, hesitantly looking up at him, " are you kidding? No. I'll drop you off somewhere" he said and she took a step back.
" I'm not going with you" she said and he groaned, " just get on the damn boat Ruby. We'll figure something out." He said.
And then suddenly it clicked, she had found the perfect plan for her to use.
She got on the boat, watching as he went to untie the lines before kicking him into the water, running up to where the steering was.
" Ruby I swear to god! You're fucking done!" He yelled," I can't just leave him! I'm sorry!" She shouted back before starting the boat.
She took a deep breath and nodded to herself, sending a text, she could only hope that she wasn't too late.
*two years ago*
Ruby reached for the steering wheel as the truck swerved into oncoming traffic yet again, her heart leaping with anxiety as another car blew its horn at them.
" god get back! Annoying bitch!" Rafe yelled, shoving her back, Ruby yelped as her shoulder slammed against the door.
" you're gonna get us killed! Pay attention!" She yelled, crying out as he slapped her across the face then grabbed her by the hair, " don't you ever fucking tell me what to do." He threatened and she whimpered, trying to make him let go.
" Rafe.. Rafe! RAFE THERE'S A CAR!!" She screamed but Rafe didn't cut the wheel in time, slamming the truck into the side of a tree.
With a blood curdling scream Ruby went through the windshield, rolling off the hood and down onto the road.
" Ruby..? RUBY!" She vaguely heard JJ screaming her name on the other line before everything went black.
*now*
JJ had an overwhelming sense of anxiety, not only did he not know where Ruby was, but today was also the anniversary of something terrible..
The pogues had eventually fallen asleep in the stables, it was safe and hidden for now.
He was the first awake, a notification on the phone had woken him up.
JJ blinked a few times and yawned, reading over the message, on the phone was a boat number and pin, underneath 'P4L'.
He sat up, urgently waking everyone else up to read what he had.
It had to be her..
