You quickly rushed up to your apartment exited to finally contact the woman who had constantly lived in your head rent-free. So immediately you sat down on the sofa and picked up the slightly dusty letter. "Finally..." You let out a long sigh as you were already pulling out your phone to make the official call.
You dialed the phone number, but your finger wasn't pressing the green call button. Something was holding you back, you were nervous to call her and first needed to get the courage, because you weren't quite sure how Larissa Weems would react to the news of you having her letter.
You were scared that she might take it in a bad way, that she would accuse you of stealing the letter even tho you even didn't know how that letter got to you in the first place. After a long while of just sitting on the sofa with the phone number visibly displayed on your phone, you finally decided to make the call.
You took in a deep breath and finally pressed the green button. You had unpleasant butterflies in your stomach but remembered what Marlyin had told you about Larissa, that she didn't judge her, and that somehow helped you to calm down a little. The phone rang but no one was picking up and eventually, it rang out resulting in all of your hard worked-up courage going to waste.
"I guess she is a busy woman." You placed your phone next to your leg as you kept observing the letter. You figured that maybe because she is a principal she has a pretty tight schedule and that maybe now she's busy if not already sleeping despite it only being nearly 8 pm. You decided that you won't bother her anymore today and would try calling her tomorrow because you thought if you called her now again it would seem desperate and unprofessional of you, so you just let it be.
Now that you had this phone number you didn't have to worry so much and constantly have Larissa Weems on your mind. So with an eased feeling you stood up off the sofa and decided to go spend your evening thinking about something else than that one letter.
As you were making yourself dinner something else popped up in your mind, something you hadn't paid any attention to, but actually should have. That article about those murders. Because you were so fixated on Larissa Weems you had completely skipped over the fact that in Jericho people were getting killed left and right and not only Nevermore students but regular people as well. And especially because you were completely new to this city, it should have been the first thing that concerned you, because you were the biggest target for the killer, stumbling slowly around the city was the best way for you to run into the killer.
So with a lot of questions on your mind you quickly finished making yourself dinner, grabbed your laptop and while enjoying your meal you started doing your research. You Googled 'Killings in Jericho' and immediately dozens of articles popped up whit all kinds of titles, for example, the ones that cough your eye were:
"A student from Nevermore disappeared without a trace and is thought to be murdered"
"Jericho's shrift department asks anyone who might have any more information about the infamous killer"
"An outcast from Nevermore accused of the many deaths taking place in Jericho"
But because you just wanted to know more about the killer itself you just clicked on one of the newest articles specifically talking about the killer, not its murders.
'Not much is known about the Jerichos killer, but some say it is a student from Nevermore who is doing these sinister things, some believe it is just a person who is thirsty for blood, but some think that it could be something more than a physical being more like a dark entity shadowing Jericho and it's residents. But right now no one can say anything more than just their speculation.
In an interview with the town's sheriff, he states that the person or most likely an inhuman being who they are dealing with is far more dangerous than everyone thinks, and he strongly advises people to stay indoors after dark and not go walking in the woods because then you are just asking to be killed.'
In the end, after reading a few more interviews you had been completely caught up with the situation even tho there wasn't anything much to learn either way. And now you felt a little silly that you had just been in the woods without knowing that you could have been killed.
A lot of people had their own opinions about the killer and there was a hand full of articles even amusing Larissa Weems, the principal of Nevermore, to be the killer, but you with all of your heart believed that she wasn't because from what you had read about her she truly seemed to be a nice and lovely human being. And that helped you think that she won't go accusing you of stealing that letter.
After you had finished your dinner and your research you went to take a shower and already by 10 pm you were in your bed. You were watching some random documentary about some infamous serial killer because this whole Jerichos situation had awoken your passion for crime when suddenly your phone started ringing spooking you a little, but you most certainly knew who was calling you. Larissa Weems.
