The whole day after you had kissed the beautiful blonde your mind was somewhere far off. You still couldn't believe that you had kissed her and even time to time believed that you had dreamt this whole thing. Every time you walked past the sofa you recalled the moment that particular night. How her lips passionately had met with yours sharing a warm connection you for sure weren't about to forget.
But as you slowly came back down to the earth you started realizing that you absolutely didn't know what to do or how to act in front of Larissa Weems. You didn't really know how things were supposed to work from now on, how your relationship was supposed to be. You were afraid that this kiss was just a one-time thing after which you and Larissa maintained a professional relationship not mentioning the moment ever again.
You didn't want to believe it, you wanted things to move further between you two, but the thing was that you didn't know how. You didn't know if you needed to talk to her about this, because last night, despite both of you talking a lot about your feelings toward each other, not once something was mentioned about your relationship for the future. And these thoughts made you feel lost for the whole day after.
But as the second day came along all of your emotions started to die down and as the almost your so-called after-kiss euphoria was starting to fade you didn't know if you should feel calm or anxious because Larissa hadn't tried to reach you after the kiss. But you hoping that it not being anything serious pursued with your day and continued working in the bookstore.
You were again restocking some shelves right before you were about to leave with headphones on when suddenly you felt two strong hands being placed on your shoulder which softly ran down your arms making you instantly turn to face the woman with who you had shared such a beautiful moment not so long ago. "Hey..." Immediately as you saw her it felt like all the oxygen from the earth had been taken away. Your breaths got short and quick as you stood in front of the tall lady.
"Hello..." For the first time she had greeted you not so formally and you could feel a lot of tension being built between you two, at least in your head it seemed like that. Tho for Larissa, there was no awkwardness coming from her whatsoever, she was calm as a summer breeze, and she wasn't fidgeting with her own jewelry or trying to avoid a gaze of an eye. "So..." You felt like if you keep standing in one place you would faint, so you started walking up to the counter not really knowing what else to do, "What brings you here today? Another book?" It was still a little bit hard for you to believe that there might be a different reason for Larissa Weems to come to the bookstore, you didn't believe that she had come here for you.
"Oh don't be silly..." Larissa chuckled making you awkward giggle a little as well, "Books aren't the only reason for me to come here...they particularly were never the reason. " She smirked as she followed you up to the counter and leaned over it as you were about to grab your bag. "So... where would you like to go now?" She asked as you realized that she wanted to go on another walk, and despite you wanting to go so badly with her, you didn't know if you could keep yourself from saying something stupid. You didn't want to embarrass yourself in front of her, make a fool out of yourself as if you had never shared that kiss.
She was standing right in front of you the only thing separating you from her was the counter. Her hair was neatly made in a perfect updo without a single loose hair present. Her makeup was perfect and her bright smile with the red lipstick on was lighting up the store by itself, you were mesmerized by her wide and soft smile, you wanted to keep looking at her, but you knew you had to snap back.
"I-Umm...actually...I don't think I will be going on a walk." You, yourself were disappointed by the words coming out of your mouth, but you couldn't help yourself, at the moment it felt like the best choice. "Oh...well why not?" Obviously, Larissa wanted to know why you canceled without giving it a second thought. "I'm quite exhausted, I just would like to go home and lay down..." "Is everything all right dear?" She obviously was concerned that something might be going on with you regarding your health. "Oh, don't worry, I just didn't sleep too well last night..." You had a feeling that another question was about to come from Larissa asking why didn't you sleep too well, so you quickly added a reasonable excuse, "Upstairs neighbors, kept me awake."
In reality, there was no one who had kept you up last night but only yourself. For a good portion of the night, you had thought about Larissa and that kiss, how you already missed her lips on yours. You had promised yourself last night that you would try to be more confident in front of her and not only rely on her to be the one who would reach out to you first, but as soon as this tall beautiful blonde was standing right in front of you that confidence you had been building just vanished in a split second. The oppressing feeling was present in your stomach, you knew you would regret your choices later, that you didn't go on a walk with her, but you just couldn't help yourself.
So you and Larissa parted ways at the book store and as soon as you did so you felt crushed that you had denied this lovely woman's offer to go on a walk, but not being able to turn the clock back you carried on by heading home. For the next few days, as you said, you weren't ignoring Larissa, but you for sure were avoiding her. Whenever she called or texted you asking if you wanted to meet up, you always made up an excuse as to why you can't make it. You knew that what you were doing didn't come as any good for your and Larissa's relationship, and if you had more guts you would have already made that relationship between you two much stronger.
