"Will be working late, love you." You were staring at the text that Larissa had just sent you informing you that yet again you wouldn't get to see her. It was the fourth day in a row that she had to work late, and even tho you understood how busy she could get not once did she try to apologize for it or try to work around her schedule so she could see you.

This was getting on your nerves and every single day you became more on edge not knowing when you would just break down. Once in a while your emotions would slip and tears would cut loose, but no one knew, not even Larissa knew how much shit you had spiraling in your head because every time you needed to cry, you did that behind people's backs.

There was so much piling onto your chest. The creepy guy at work never stopped being creepy, he always sexualized you, till the point you hated going to work and it didn't bring any joy to you, only bad emotions and uncomfortable feelings. The fact that you now rarely got to see Larissa made it all worse as now you were ready to tell her about the guy, but because she wasn't here you couldn't do so, leaving you to deal all alone with your emotions.

Almost every single night you sat on your sofa, doing something random to pass the time while waiting for Larissa to text you, asking that maybe you want to come over and spend the night with her, or that she is on her way to spend some time at your place, but the text never came and the message box remained empty. This leads you to overthink and stress yourself out in yet another small breakdown.

The thing you caught yourself thinking about the most often was Larissa and Morticia. About what could have happened in their past and what could be happening right now or in the unknown future. The words Morticia said about you being nothing more to Larissa than just a random pick for her, you took to heart and even, possibly believed it. This led you down a rabbit hole of many unpleasant thoughts, but the one that disturbed you the most and made you cringe was that maybe Larissa wasn't working late but, in fact, spending time with Morticia as you knew she still had some feelings towards her. You were afraid that Morticia would get your blonde girlfriend all to herself leaving you heartbroken and alone.

"Maybe mom was right...protecting me from the harsh world because she knew my heart wouldn't handle it." You said to yourself as your hand gently slid against the cat's soft fur, while it was sleeping comfortably in your lap, filling the air with its purrs. "I miss you, mom..." You could feel tears trying to break loose, and never in your years, you would ever think to be missing the woman who made you miss out on so much. "I miss home..." Now you were even feeling homesick, the last thing you thought you would ever miss.

Your eyes slid to the clock on the wall, "7 pm. Maybe..." A thought of consideration crossed your mind that maybe you could go visit your family for the weekend as it was Friday. "God...can I?" You didn't need to ask for anyone's permission as it was your choice, but it still felt like you needed to. You believed that it would be a nice way for you to clear your head, get away from Jericho and all the bad things it held, and just be with your family no matter how much the past hurt. "Ughhh...." You grabbed your head as you loudly groaned making Shelby jump off your lap and lay right next to you. You really wanted to get away from this situation and come back with your thoughts straightened out, but then you would have to admit the fact that you were running away from the situation rather than face it and you hated running away.

"Maybe just this once.''  Your hand was already reaching for your phone to see on which train you could get on that would take you back to your home town. And just like that you had made your decision, you informed your mother that you would be visiting and already packed your bag even tho there wasn't much to pack as most of your clothes and things were still at your childhood home. "Shelby...what do I do with you?" You looked at the cat which seemed like was ready to come with you, so before you knew it you were already putting him in a carrier bag to go show off to your family. "Are you ready to see my toxic family Shelby?" You asked in a cute baby-like voice acting like the situation wasn't that bad.
