"They loved it! I had never heard a crowd so loud!" Paul seemed very happy with the way things turned out. Colby still looked angry. I sighed and continued to listen as Paul spoke to us. After Paul was done, we went back to the locker rooms to change. What was I going to do about Colby? I couldn't have him hating me when we are working together. No, if Paul even slightly heard that I couldn't get along with my co workers, I may never be able to be a wrestler. I had to at least try and get him to accept me as part of the group. Then, maybe everything would be ok. I changed into some clothes, grabbed my stuff and then went towards the boy's locker room. Everyone else had already left besides the janitors of the building. Jon and Joe walked out soon after I got there and greeted me.

"You ready to go?"

"Where is Colby?"

"Still getting dressed. Why do you need to know where Colby is all of a sudden?" Jon said as he smirked.

"Just curious."

"So, you ready? We are going to be already late getting there."

"Actually, I am riding with someone else."

"Who?"

"Mercedes is back in the locker room. She offered me a ride. I wanted to come and tell you guys before we left."

They hadn't seen through the lie. "Ok, have fun. See you in Colorado."

I nodded. They walked away after that. Perfect. This would give me the opportunity I needed. Maybe if I spent some time with Colby, we could talk things through and learn a way to work together. Though I dreaded being alone in a car with him, this was about my job and I wasn't going let any personal feelings get in the way of that. Colby walked out and saw me. He put on a smile but I knew it was fake.

"Hey."

He started to walk away from me and I chased after him. I fell into step with him and continued to walk down the hallway. He didn't say anything at first but once we were almost in the parking lot, he stopped and turned to me.

"What're you doing?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, what are you doing? You try to avoid me as much as possible and now you're stalking me. What are you doing?"

"Seeing if you needed a carpool buddy?"

He scoffed. "I don't."

"Why?"

"Because, I already have one."

"Who?"

"Joe."

"Liar, Joe is riding with Jon. I would know. I ride with them most of the time."

"Then go ride with them and quit bothering me."

He started to walk away but I easily caught up with him. I followed him all the way to his car and he put his things in the trunk. I set my stuff in there as well and Colby looked annoyed.

"You're not riding with me."

"I'll pay for gas."

"You think gas money is going to allow you in my car?"

I nodded.

"Well, it isn't. Now, get your things and go ride with someone else."

"But there is no one else. Everyone has already left."

"Then get a rental or something."

"A rental place? At this hour? And not to mention there isn't one for a couple of miles."

"That's not my problem. Get your crap out of my car."

I huffed and grabbed my things. I went and sat on a concrete block near the front of his car and watched as he got in and drove away. What was I going to do? It couldn't have been that long since Jon and Joe left. Maybe they could come back and get me. It would inconvenience them though. And it was already a long enough of a drive to Colorado as it is. I can't believe Colby would leave me out here. But why should I be surprised. Colby was a grade A jerk and everyone knew it. I sighed before grabbing my things and started walking. I looked at my phone. 8 miles. The nearest car rental was 8 miles away. I would be lucky to even make it Colorado by morning. I walked to the entrance of the arena and started walking in the direction of the rental place. A lot of time had passed as I was walking, the cold night air hitting my face as I walked. I didn't have a lot of layers on because I didn't think I would be walking out here so the night felt much colder than before. I figured about ten minutes had passed when I heard a car pull up next to the curb. The bright lights were blinding but I could see someone get out. As they got closer, I realized that it was Colby. He grabbed my things and threw them into the car. He opened the passenger side door and then got back into his car. I went over and climbed in the passenger side and closed the door. Wow, what a fun road trip this was going to be...
