"Dun dun, duh duh duh dun, duh duh dun."
I sang as loudly as I could as the Game of Thrones theme continued on. It was my day off today and Game of Thrones was having a little marathon on to gear up for the season finale tonight. I was so excited! They were showing all the past episodes from this season and I planned to watch them all. It was on episode 2 so I had a little ways to go. I had my Daenerys t shirt on and I was prepared for a great ending to the season. The episode started and I sat down to watch but that was when I heard a knock at the door. Who could it be interrupting my marathon? I went to the door and opened it. In front of me stood a very apologetic looking man.
"Hello. I'm with the hotel. I got a bit of a noise complaint. Seems to be some yelling and loud singing. Could you try and keep it down?"
"Oh, I'm really sorry."
"It's alright. Just keep it down."
He was about to walk away.
"Excuse me but could you tell me which room made the complaint? I would like to formally apologize."
He seemed like he didn't want me too but he must have seen how sincere I was being.
"Two doors down. Just, don't tell my manager I told you."
"My lips are sealed. Thank you."
He nodded and went back to his work. I sighed and went to the room he said and knocked on the door. The door opened and revealed Colby. His hair was messy and he was in a pair of sweats and a PVRIS tshirt.
"You're the one that complained?"
"You're the one that was yelling?"
Come on, Marci. Be civil. Tomorrow, you'll be leaving The Shield. Just one more day. "Well, I want to say sorry for the disturbance. I was watching Game of Thrones and..."
"You watch Game of Thrones?"
"Yeah, why?"
"I love Game of Thrones. You watching the marathon?"
This was the most Colby had talked to me in the past few weeks. I was surprised by the sudden interaction. "Yeah, I'm watching it until the season finale comes on."
"Oh, cool. Well, bye."
He slammed the door in my face. What was his problem? I sighed and went back to my room to continue watching. I sat down on my bed and was ready to watch the rest of the episode when I heard another knock. I got up and opened the door, expecting it to be the guy again.
"Look, I haven't made a sound and...Colby?"
Colby stood in front of me with a pillow and snacks.
"Mind if I come in?"
I wasn't sure if I should let him but I guess since we were trying to be civilized, I should see what he wants. I gave him room to come in and he placed his stuff on my bed and sat down.
"What are you doing?
"Well, I will provide snacks if we can watch Game of Thrones together."
"And why would I allow you to do that?"
"Well, since we are friends..."
"We're not friends."
"Fine, whatever we are. But maybe this could be a good thing."
"And how do you suppose that?"
"Because this could be a good little 'bonding activity' or something like that. Maybe we could get to know each other and be able to work together in the future if that ever happens."
'Get to know each other'? Those words scared me the most. I didn't want him to get to know me and I really didn't want to get to know him either. But it looked like he wasn't going to leave. Maybe this wouldn't be too bad. I hoped.
"No! What?! You can't leave us with that! Ugh, this is the worst!"
"This can't be the end of the season! That is the worst cliffhanger to date!"
Multiple snack wrappers and episodes later, Colby and I finished the season. We laughed and cried as the episodes went on and I couldn't believe we had gotten along like we had. I was actually surprised. It didn't mean a whole lot but at least we found a little more common ground. The credits rolled and I fell back on the bed.
"This sucks."
Colby fell down on the bed too. He was right next to me.
"Tell me about it. How could they end with that?"
"I know right?"
I heard a knock at the door and I went to get it. I opened it to see the same man again.
"Hello again."
"Oh, I'm really sorry. We will be quiet, I promise."
The man nodded and walked away. I felt bad about giving the guy such a hard time. I walked back in and Colby was grabbing his things.
"I should probably get out of here."
"Yeah, it is pretty late."
He nodded and started to walk out the door before he turned to me.
"I had fun tonight. We should do it again sometime."
I nodded. "I would like that."
Colby smiled and for some reason, my heart skipped a couple beats. What the heck?
"I'll see you later."
Colby gave me a quick hug before walking out the door. My heart was beating faster and my stomach was in knots. No, this wasn't happening. I sat on my bed and pulled my knees up to my chest. No, don't you do it, Marci. Don't you be attracted to him. You're so close to being a WWE Superstar. Don't you do this. You can't afford that distraction. You've done so well so far, don't screw it up now. I rocked back and forth trying to get the thoughts out of my brain but all my brain could think about was Colby.
