After the Hall of Fame, there was an After Party where they did serve drinks. Now, WWE warned the wrestlers to not drink heavily since Mania was tomorrow which meant I got stuck babysitting Jon all night. Now, Jon was responsible but he also loved to drink. And I knew he was probably responsible enough to handle himself but it also did worry me that if he had one drink, he would keep drinking. So, I took it upon myself to watch him to make sure he didn't get drunk.

"You know, you can have fun."

I looked to him. I had been sitting with him for the past hour and we really hadn't said much to each other.

"I am."

"You're not. I'm 32 years old. I can handle myself, you know?"

"I know."

"Then why are you here making sure I don't drink too much?"

"I'm not. I'm just hanging out with my good friend Jon."

"Right, ok, let's say that your lie is true. Let's hang out then."

Oh no, what did that mean? "Ok."

"Let's talk. How are you?"

"Good."

"Great. How is your shoulder?"

"Fine."

"Great. Are you going to hurry up and tell Colby you want to marry him?"

"What?"

"You heard me. So, are you excited for Mania?"

"Whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down. What do you mean by me telling Colby?"

"It's pretty obvious you want to marry him. Am I wrong?"

"...No."

"Then why don't you tell him?"

"I thought you said it was obvious?"

"It is, to everyone else. But not to Colby because he is an idiot."

"I don't want to ask him."

"Why?"

"Because...I know how he feels about that stuff."

"But you want too."

"Of course I do."

"Then I don't see the issue. If you want to marry him, make it clear and tell him. Otherwise, that little happiness talk is all it is ever going to be."

"Happiness talk?"

"You know. The talk about 'are you happy with us' and all that other crap."

"He was wanting to know if I wanted to marry him?"

"Yeah. Joe and I were talking to him about it before you showed up."

"Jon!" I shoved him and he started laughing.

"What? It was going to come up sometime."

"Maybe but that doesn't mean you need to go and plant thoughts in his head that I am unhappy."

"But you are."

"I'm not. Do I want marriage? Of course. I love him. But I know that he doesn't want that and I am ok with it."

"You sound like Nikki right now."

"And it is that a bad thing?"

He sighed. "Nikki has taken a long time to accept that she doesn't want marriage. That she would rather be unhappy than to lose John. And that works for her. But you and I both know that she still wants it more than anything. And I know that you do too. So, you can go ahead and live your life not discussing marriage or, you can go to him right now and ask him. Maybe even a yes from him. And if he says no, move on. Don't stay with him if he can't give you want you really want."
