I ended up going to the show after my talk with Jon and Joe. I actually had an amazing time. That was until I went backstage. Paul immediately started asking me if I was planning on coming back. I missed wrestling but I just wasn't sure if I should come back or not. I knew Paul really wanted me too but even though months had passed, seeing Colby everywhere in this place was almost unbearable. I told him I would think about it. He seemed pleased that he at least got a maybe. I walked towards the parking lot and Colby was chatting up some girl. She was laughing at something he said and I tried to ignore it as I walked to my car. Suddenly, I heard footsteps following after me.

"Not even a hello?"

I sighed and turned towards him. "Do you deserve one?"

"I think I do."

"Well, I don't think so."

I got in the car. Jon and Joe wanted to spend some time with me and got a hotel not far from here. I was going there to hang out with them. As I was about turn on the car, Colby got in the passenger seat.

"What are you doing?"

"Jon and Joe told me you were hanging out with them tonight and I need a ride."

"Not my problem. Get out of my car."

"No."

I sighed and decided that it would be easier to just let him ride. I drove to the hotel and texted the guys what room they were in. They said it was 312. I could hear Colby following behind me and I knew if I got on an elevator with him, it would be worse so I decided to use the stairs. I could hear him still following behind me as I made my way up. As I was about to reach the final set, Colby grabbed my arm. I looked back at him. I sighed. If I just listen to whatever lies he wants to spew out of his mouth, maybe he will leave me alone. I walked down to the space between the stairs. Colby backed up to give me room, his back hitting the wall. And then everything was coming back to me. Colby planned this.

"Remember our first kiss? It was on steps just like these. And you were nervous. I kissed you once and I pushed your hair back, like this."

He pushed a strand of hair from my face. I grabbed his hand and pushed it away.

"No. I try to forget everything that happened between us."

"I haven't."

"Well, I have. I've moved on. So should you."

I walked up the stairs and I heard a door slam shut. I took several breaths before entering the third floor. I wouldn't have him ruining my life. Not anymore.

"Hey, Marci!"

I looked to see Jon sticking his head out the door. He seemed cheery. I walked towards him and he pulled me into the room. From now on, I was going to stop focusing on the past and focus on my future. No more distractions.
