Chapter 25- Access

~ April 5, 2018 ~

"Colby!"

I ran to him and he picked me up in his arms. He spun me around and it felt good to be in his arms once again. This weekend was Wrestlemania weekend and I was so excited. I was going to be fighting in my first ever Wrestlemania match! I couldn't believe it was finally here. Colby put me down and started kissing me in the middle on the airport.

"Alright you two, get a room."

I turned to see Jon and Joe walking towards us. I hugged both of them, happy to see them again. I had been out for a while with an injury and I was returning at Mania with my boys. The Shield was still going strong and I was happy that I was still with them to this day. I never could have imagined staying with them for as long as I have. The other thing I couldn't have imagined was dating Colby Lopez. We had officially been together for ten months and still going strong. Even with me being out with my injury, we had still been faithful and never faltered. I was so happy to be with him. And with it being Wrestlemania week, I was hoping Colby would be popping the question. I wanted him to more than anything. I climbed on his back, him giving me a piggyback ride through the airport.

"So, how was your flight?" I asked him as we went towards the Uber I got.

"It was good. How was yours?"

"It was good. I'm just happy you're here."

He looked at me and gave me a quick kiss before putting me down. He then put his things in the trunk. I got in the car with the boys and the driver headed towards the hotel.

"The hotel is amazing. You guys are going to love it. And I also got my ring gear in too."

"I bet you look good in it." Colby said as he started kissing me.

"Ew, stop. Can you guys go five seconds without making out?"

Colby and I stopped kissing to answer Jon.

"No." We said in unison and started laughing.

"I agree with Jon. I'm actually pretty grossed out here too."

"I haven't seen Colby in months. Can you blame me for being a little excited?"

Jon and Joe playfully rolled their eyes at me before focusing back on the road. We arrived at the hotel in a short amount of time and I stepped out of the car. The guys grabbed their things and we started walking towards the entrance. Groups of people stood near the entrance asking for autographs. People were extremely excited to see The Shield in town. I loved talking to fans and decided to stop and sign some autographs and take pictures. The boys stopped too and started signing stuff.

"Marci!"

A teen girl was reaching out with a picture. I went to her and took it from her. It was fan art of Colby and I.

"Did you make this?"

She nodded.

"This is amazing! Do you want me to sign it or keep it?"

"Could you keep it but sign this?"

I looked to see her pull out a notebook. I nodded and started signing her notebook.

"Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure, sweetie."

"You and Colby are my OTP."

I started laughing. "Thank you very much."

"So, my question is, are you two ever going to get married?"

I finished signing her notebook and smiled before looking at her.

"I hope so."

She laughed. "Thanks so much."

I nodded and took a picture with her before following after the boys inside.

"Marci!"

I looked to see Pamela in the lobby. I ran over to her and gave her a hug. I hadn't seen Pamela since I had gotten injured. We had become good friends since everything that happened with Mercedes. I was so excited to hang out with her once again. This weekend was going to be the best weekend of my life.

"Come on, show me."

Though my confidence had gotten better over the last couple of months, I was still pretty insecure. Colby had asked me to try on my gear and show him but as I looked at myself in the mirror, I wasn't sure I should show him.

"No. I don't think so. I think I need to switch it or something."

"Marci, I bet you look amazing. Please show me."

I sighed and walked out of the bathroom.

"Here. You happy?"

"Wow."

"What?"

"You look...wow."

I tried not to get all flustered as I walked over to him. He looked up at me and pulled me to him. He started kissing me and threw me on the bed. We started kissing and I couldn't be happier than I was at this moment. Just being with him, kissing him and just knowing that we were together. I never thought that I would ever find someone who understood me and knew me better than I knew myself. He pulled away and leaned over me. He pushed my hair back from my face and looked down at me.

"I love you. You know that?"

"I love me too."

"Ha, really funny. But seriously. I love you."

Was this it? Was he going to ask me? My heart started pounding in my chest.

"I love you too."

He smiled and then got off the bed before pulling me up.

"I'll see you later, ok?"

I nodded and he gave me a quick kiss before leaving the room. I was suddenly sad but I wasn't giving hope yet. I went to the bathroom and took off my gear before walking back out. I walked into the room and saw Mercedes sitting on the other bed. Because it was Mania weekend, WWE required we have roommates and it looks like I got put with the girl who couldn't stand me.

"Looks like we're roomies."

"I guess so."

Silence filled the room. It was so awkward to be around her again. I got my injury soon after Money in the Bank and we never talked about what happened that night.

"Well, I'm going to go."

I nodded and she walked out of the room. One weekend, Marci. Just get through this weekend.

~ April 6, 2018: Wrestlemania Access ~

I walked around Access with Colby and the guys, looking at all of the memorabilia set up. Access hadn't opened up yet so there were no fans in the building. Our signing was at 12 and I was so excited to meet the fans.

"Whoa."

I ran over to a statue head and I immediately knew which statue head it was. Colby walked over to me and put his arms around me as we looked at it.

"I looked good a couple of years ago, huh?"

"Well, with it just being the head, your wrestling wouldn't be able to distract people from the crap you were spewing out of your mouth."

He turned me around and I started laughing.

"Oh, yeah? You want to make fun of me?"

He started to tickle me and I couldn't stop laughing.

"Stop, stop."

He stopped and looked down at me. We started kissing and everything in me was thinking, maybe this is it. Colby stopped kissing me and got down on one knee. My heart started pounding. Was this it? He stood up and looked at me.

"Sorry, my shoe was untied."

"Yeah, no problem."

He took my hand and led me through the rest of Access. Well, today was not the day. But I wasn't going to stop dreaming.
