"Look at Colby Lopez!"

I walked down the flight of stairs towards Jon and Joe. Marci texted me to tell me that her and Mercedes made up and they were headed this way. I was happy about that fact. Ever since Money in the Bank, I could tell both girls were sad about what had happened and though they were sad, they didn't talk about it. I wanted to pull my hair out at how stupid they were both being. They missed each other and yet, they weren't talking. I was hoping after asking Paul to book Mercedes and Marci in the same room, they would make up. And it looks like my plan worked. I got down the rest of the steps and watched as Joe pushed Jon's hand away from his collar.

"Stop it, Jon."

Jon gave Joe an annoyed face as he continued to sneak his way to pull at it. Jon hated wearing suits. He hated the way they felt, he hated the way they basically strangled him and he hated that he had to wear them. Hopefully, we could get through this night without Jon taking off his suit and throwing it across the room.

"Marci here yet?"

"No, not yet. She texted me and said she was on her way. With Mercedes."

"Ah, so your plan worked."

"That it did."

"You think she is going to wear a dress?" Jon asked.

"Doubtful. She will probably show up in a pair of jeans and a nice shirt."

The guys laughed. I knew Marci. She wouldn't be caught dead in a dress.

"So..." Jon started.

"What?"

"We were wondering..."

"If?"

"If, you know..."

"Jon, just spit it out."

"You might..."

Joe intervened. "Are you asking the girl to marry you?"

I was surprised by the question. "What? Why would you ask that?"

"Because it is obvious that you love her and that she loves you. And it is Mania weekend. This would be the perfect opportunity to ask her."

"I honestly haven't thought about it."

"Are you kidding me? You haven't thought about it? You love her right?"

"Yeah."

"And she loves you?"

"Yeah."

"Then there is really nothing to think about. I have never seen you this happy before. And we can tell that she is happy too. And we know you are probably scared of all this stuff but honestly, Colby, that girl is good for you. She's the best thing that could have happened to you and you would be stupid to let fear keep you from your happiness with her."

I knew they were right but I just wasn't sure yet. I wasn't sure if all of that was right for me and right for us. Did Marci even want that? Did I even want that? I just wasn't sure about all of it. I sighed and started to think about it when I heard heels clicking on the floor. I turned to see Mercedes running towards us.

"Hey, guys. What is up?"

"Hey. Where is Marci?"

"You think I'm just going to show her to you? It has to be a big reveal."

"A big reveal? Fine, I'll play along. But honestly, what is so special about what she wears every day?"

"Ha, you think that she didn't dress up but you are very wrong." She pulled out her phone and started texting. I shook my head and turned around to talk to the guys. I didn't understand why there needed to be a 'big reveal' but whatever. I was just glad they were talking again. The guys and I started talking when out of nowhere, the guys stopped. They were stunned into silence and I turned around to see what they were so entranced by. And like my own personal angel, walking down the stairs, was Marci. (...) She was in a dress that hit all the right places, she looked gorgeous and she was actually stable as she walked down the stairs in heels. I was stunned. She got to the bottom step and walked to me.

"Hi."

"Hi."

"Everyone is staring at me." She whispered.

"It's hard not to stare." I whispered back.

I saw her blush and she put her hands over her cheeks. I could tell she felt a little uncomfortable with everyone staring but how could they not stare? She looked even more beautiful than she usually did. I removed one of the hands from her face and locked it with mine.

"It's going to be ok."

It seemed to calm her a bit. Marci had come a long way but at the same time, I knew she still had part of her that was completely scared of eyes being on her. I led her through the backstage area and the guys followed closely behind. We walked to where other people were being led in. We walked to the front and went through. We stepped onto the red carpet and I heard fans calling our name as we walked towards the interview area. I could feel Marci cling onto me as we walked towards the cameras.

"Hi everyone, my name is Tom Phillips and I am here at the Hall of Fame 2018. Here with me now is the team that is hoping to reclaim their tag team titles from Enzo Amore and Big Cass, The Shield. How is it going, guys?"

We looked at Marci and that was when she realized that we were expecting her to speak. She looked terrified. Before the silence could go on much longer, Jon stepped up.

"We are doing great, Tom. Tomorrow we take on the Tag Team Champions, Enzo and Cass. But tonight, tonight we celebrate the people that paved the way for this company. So, we'll be putting aside our differences for the time being."

Joe stepped up to the mic. "But that doesn't mean they should take us lightly. We are going to be Tag Team Champions again so those two better watch their backs."

Tom smiled. "And I see we have the lovely Marcella back with us again."

I could feel her shaking but I held her hand as she stepped towards the mic. And like a flip of a switch, Marci became that girl everyone knew and loved. "Glad to be back, Tom. I have missed this place more than I have missed anything."

"How is the shoulder holding up?"

"It's good, it's doing better. It is pretty much healed up but we'll have to see if I can be cleared yet."

"Well, I hope that it is cleared by tomorrow. The fans and many others would love to see you back in that ring."

"I guess we'll see what happens, Tom."

"Thank you guys so much. Have a great Hall of Fame."

"Thanks, Tom."

We walked away from the camera and Marci seemed to calm down a bit. She hadn't been in front of cameras in a long time so that must have been where all her anxiety was coming from. After that first interview, she was perfectly fine as we made our way through the other interviews and then to our seats.

"You did amazing."

She smiled and I kissed her cheek as we waited for the Hall of Fame to start. I looked at Marci. She seemed content, didn't she? She seemed ok with the way we were going, right? I mean, she seemed happy to me.

"Marci?"

She turned to look at me. "Yeah?"

"You're...happy, right?"

She seemed confused by the question. "What?"

"You know, you're happy with...us, right?"

I looked to see Joe and Jon trying not to laugh. I wanted to punch both of them in the jaw.

"Of course. Why would you ask that?"

"I don't know. I'm just making sure you're still happy in our relationship is all."

"Are you happy?"

"Yes, completely."

"Then you have nothing to worry about. I love you."

"I love you too."

She smiled and kissed me before looking at the rest of the set up. Hall of Fame started soon after and I tried focusing on that but in the back of my mind, I kept thinking, was she lying?
