Episode 27: Lies in Shadows

Ophani: [Checked under the bed?]

(Y/N): Yes, I have. But it wasn't there. Obviously.

I continue looking around. I found a locked box in Irina's closet and I'm looking for the key. Maybe I'm still thinking too close to the box.

(Y/N): Hey Ketsuki, think you can give me a hand? Where do you think she would hide a key?

(Y/N): Ou-Well alright then. Guess he's got an idea.

He controls my body and has me open the door. When then walk twords the stairs, where he stops.

My collar stretches and points over the railing. I look down as my eyes follow it to a door under the stairs.

(Y/N): The basement? Good idea. You know, I actually did notice that door till now. Good thinking Ketsuki. I go down the stairs and approch the door.

But sadly, it's locked.

(Y/N): Ugh. It's locked... Hey wait a minute.

I hold my hand to the door and let my every go into the keyhole.

Ophani: [What are you doing?]

(Y/N): Trying to use my powers to lockpick.

Ophani: [Need a hand?]

(Y/N): No, I think I got it.

Ophani: [Nonsense. Plus, it'll be faster.]

I see a purple energy flow from my chest and through my arm and joins my own energy. In a few seconds, I hear a click.

Ophani: [Open. Your welcome.]

(Y/N): Well, thank you. Even though I could have done it on my own.

I hear her scoff as I open the door and go down the stairs.

The staircase is long, and it's almost pitch black. I make an orb of light in my hand so I can see.

Ophani: [What do you think is down here?]

(Y/N): Probably what you'd keep in a basement. Why?

Ophani: [I used my powers to check out what I could. It almost seems like the stairs keep going.]

(Y/N): Your probably worried too much. What, scared of the dark?

Ophani: [No I'm not!]

Suddenly, a loud sound rang out. It sounded like a pipe falling or something. Ophani had materialized and hugged me.

(Y/N): Not scared huh?

Ophani: S-shut up! L-let's just keep going.

We continued downwards. Every now and then, we hear that sound. It continues to get louder and louder, until it stopped entirely.

Ophani: I-it stopped.

(Y/N): That could either be good or bad.

We continued until we're at the bottom of the stairs. But, what we see doesn't make me feel any better about those sounds.
