It was the middle of the night. Andrew had his stuff already packed. He fit as much possible clothes in his bag. He grabbed every cent he could find in his room and whatever he had saved up. Including the money that Jodi had stashed away in jar that she hid in her dresser.

He slowly opened his door and peeked his head out. The door to his parents room was still slightly open. They were fast asleep. He was sure that he could slam his door and they still wouldn't wake up. But he wasn't going to risk doing that. He left his door slightly open and turned back around.

He put on his shoes and the warmest jacket he could find. He walked back to his dresser to grab his passport that he hid. But it wasn't there anymore. He dug through it all, throwing more clothes across the room to find it, but nothing.

"I'm guessing this is what you're looking for."

He turned back to the door. Jodi stood there with his passport in his hand. Anger was written all over her face.

"Jodi-"

"Whatever happened to taking me with you?" She asked.

Andrew closed his eyes and sighed. "I-"

"I guess all that was a lie, right? Saying that you were going to protect me? That you would take me with you once the time came?"

"Look, I'm sorry. I have to. I can't take it any longer. You understand, right?" He asked.

"So what gives you the right to take all my money?"

Andrew didn't say a thing. He wanted to look away, but her eyes were staring straight at him. "I'll come back for you. I-"

"Shut up." She growled. She tossed the passport back to him. "Just take it. And don't bother coming back."

She turned back around to go to her room. Andrew ran over and pulled her back in. "Don't say things like that. Look, I'm going to come back for you. It's just going to take some time. I promise." He held out his pinky to her.

Jodi stared at the pinky and scoffed. "You really expect me to believe that?"

Andrew felt his heart slowly breaking.

Jodi aggressively pulled her arm back. "Like I said, just leave. Doesn't matter to me what you end up doing. I don't need you anymore."

She turned back around and walked into her room. She climbed back into her bed and draped the covers over her.

Not long later, she could hear the front door opening and closing. She sat back up and looked out the window. She watched Andrew beginning to leave the house. He turned back to the house once more, specifically at Jodi's window.

Jodi made sure that he would be able to see her. He turned back around and walked away, not bothering to look back again.

Jodi laid back in bed. Not a single tear was found on her. She closed her eyes and covered her ears with her hands as she slowly began to hear a ringing in her ears. But it wouldn't go away.

"You should really bring me more of these burgers. They're pretty good." Heckyl said as he swallowed down his food. He began to get concerned when she wouldn't respond. "Jodi?" He questioned.

She didn't say anything.

"Jodi?" He called out a bit louder.

Jodi jumped to the sound of his voice. "What was that?" She asked.
