"Wake up."
"Not now. I still have time."
"You need to wake up."
Jodi opened her eyes. That wasn't Spite's voice. She quickly sat up and looked around. She wasn't on the ship. She was in the middle of the woods. Not only that. It was snowing. It never snows in this part of California.
She figured out that she was in New York. And that this was a dream. "Great." She mumbled. "So who's the figure of my imagination that's ruining my sleep? Tyler? Chase? Andrew? Andrew feels like the right answer."
"Neither of them."
Jodi turned back around, coming face to face with herself. Not only that. She was covered in blood and full of scratches everywhere. "What is going on?"
"Your emotions are preventing you from completing this mission. You need to control them."
"What emotions? You have no idea what you're talking about."
"You feel it, don't you?"
Jodi's smile dropped. "Feel what?"
"Your heartbeat. You are slowly coming back to your old senses."
"Not happening. I know how to control them."
"It's because of Tyler. Your feelings for him are getting stronger. You have to push these feelings away."
"Leave me alone!"
She was suddenly awake. Jodi could feel her heart beating rapidly. She looked around. She was back on the ship. Her heartbeat was slowly goin back to normal. But she didn't understand what all that was.

"Here."
Jodi looked up. Tyler smiled down at her as he placed her milkshake on the table. "Thanks."
"Anytime."
"I haven't had one of these in a while. And I was really craving one today."
"We're always happy to make you one."
"Thanks." She smiled. She looked down at his energem. It was right in front of her.
Tyler looked down at her bag. He frowned when not seeing the keychain. He had the idea to buy her one. He now just needed to find a place.
"You mentioned something about leaving town yesterday?" Jodi asked.
"Yeah, I met someone who knew my dad. I went over there to see if he knew anything about what happened to him. Turns out a cave collapsed while they were in there. My dad saved his friend, but he disappeared. But I still have hope that I could find him."
"I'm sorry to hear about that. I really hope you do end up finding him. I have a good feeling you will." Jodi smiled. Grabbing his hand and gently squeezing it.
He felt a lot better about the whole situation. If she thought that he could find his dad, than maybe there really was a chance. His face was heating up from her touch. Her hands were so small and she was being so gentle.
"Again! Ah!"
The two turned around to the sound of Chase. He stood up from the chair he was sitting at and ran to the kitchen. "Not again." Tyler shook his head.
Jodi laugh seeing him panic. "You should probably help out. Looks like they need you."
"Seems so." Tyler stood up, patting her head as he went back to work.
Her heart was beating rapidly again. She thought back to her dream.
"It's because of Tyler. Your feelings for him are getting stronger."
She knew of her real feelings for Tyler. But they meant nothing to her. There was no way that what she was feeling was making her normal again. She didn't believe it. Not one bit.

After the cafe had finally closed, everyone went down to the base to talk. "Any ideas on who we think Spite could be?" Kendall asked.
Everyone shook their head. "No one stands out. In a way where it seems like they're being distant from everyone. This person has to be at the cafe constantly to know all these things. Chloe, my dad, and Jodi." Tyler said.
"One more. Kaylee." Riley said.
"What?" Chase questioned.
"Shelby and I confronted Spite yesterday before meeting with you. She mentioned Kaylee." Riley explained.
"Did you at all notice someone following you two around these past few days? That's the only way they could know about Kaylee." Shelby asked.
Chase shook his head. "No one. I did my best to be secretive. It was always just us two."
"This is bad." Koda frowned.
"Everything will be fine, my friend. There has to be something about her that we can use against her." Ivan said.
"Already ahead of you." Shelby said. "When Tyler and I hopped on Sledge's ship, it was the first time we saw her. I noticed she doesn't like loud sounds. I guess it hurts her." She explained.
"That's great. We now have something. We all need to be careful. No getting close to anyone else." Kendall said.
"That might be a little harder for Tyler." Riley mocked.
"Hey." Tyler said, hitting his shoulder. The two laughed together. "Good job, Shelby."
"It's nothing. It's not like I found out who she was." Shelby frowned.
"But that small piece of information is going to help us a lot. We know her weakness. We can use that against her. She won't see what's coming." Tyler smiled as he patted her head.
Shelby looked down to hide her blush. She still wished she didn't feel this way. Or that he would look at her instead. But she knew that Jodi was the only one he saw. But he was her friend. She wanted to support him.
"You all should go home and get some rest. Who know's what could happen next. I'll see you all tomorrow."
"Bye, Ms. Morgan."
Minus Ivan and Koda, they all left the museum together. "I'm going to give Kaylee a call. I want to check up on her. I'll see you guys later." Chase said.
"I'll walk with you. I go that way anyways." Tyler said. "Later." He waved to Riley and Shelby.
The two friends waved back. "Do you have any ideas on who Spite could be?" Shelby asked.
"Not a clue. But I have a feeling we're close." Riley smiled.
"Let's just hope we can figure it out soon."
Hope you enjoyed!
See you soon :)
