If my memory can build a lane and tears can build a bridge, I would walk right up to heaven and bring you home
It has been two days since Alden arrived at the Cullen household.
Edward's mind was a complex tapestry of thoughts and emotions, honed over centuries of existence. As he delved into the thoughts of Alden, a member of the Amentes clan, he anticipated uncovering valuable information about the whereabouts of Zyane, the missing Alpha. However, what he discovered shattered his expectations and thrust him into a harrowing glimpse of Alden's past.
Alden's memories surged forward, crashing into Edward's consciousness like a violent storm. Edward's mind-reading abilities brought forth vivid images, sounds, and emotions, thrusting him into the depths of Alden's suffering. In the depths of Alden's recollections, Edward witnessed the horror that haunted his companion's every waking moment.
It was a moonlit night, much like the one that enveloped them now. Alden stood, his body tense and tremulous, as the Amentes clan circled him, their eyes filled with malevolence. Alden's role was that of the bait—a pawn in a twisted game of cruelty. The Amentes had captured a wolf, one who had imprinted on Alden. They had exploited the bond between them to torment both.
Edward watched, his heart heavy with anger and sorrow, as the Amentes subjected the wolf to unspeakable tortures. Each agonized howl that emanated from the wolf's mouth pierced Edward's soul. He could feel Alden's despair deepening, his spirit being crushed beneath the weight of witnessing such cruelty inflicted upon a creature he had grown to care for. The torture continued relentlessly, the Amentes reveling in their sadistic power.
Edward's fists clenched in rage, his eyes narrowing as he absorbed every excruciating detail. The scent of blood, the cries of pain, the mocking laughter of Alden's tormentors—it all seared into his mind, etching a scar upon his psyche.
In the darkest recesses of Alden's memories, Edward was forced to confront the horrifying scene that haunted his companion's nightmares. It was a chilling night, the moon veiled by a shroud of clouds, as the Amentes clan gathered in a macabre ritual. Bound by twisted tradition, they mercilessly hunted down a wolf, its coat a symphony of shades beneath the moon's eerie glow. The air reeked of fear, desperation, and impending doom. The helpless wolf, once full of life and vigor, now trembled with a raw, instinctual understanding of its impending fate. Its eyes locked with Alden's, an unbreakable connection forged through the sacred bond of imprinting.
As the Amentes circled the wolf, their predatory grins morphed into sadistic glee. Their wicked intentions were laid bare as they reveled in the thrill of causing pain. Edward could almost taste the metallic tang of blood that stained the air, his senses inundated with the anguish that emanated from the wolf's tortured form.
They pounced upon the defenseless creature, their malicious intentions manifesting in violent and savage acts. Claws slashed through flesh, teeth sank into sinew, and twisted laughter mingled with the agonized howls of the wolf, a symphony of despair that clawed at Edward's own sanity.
With each heart-wrenching cry, Alden's spirit shattered further. His body shook with the weight of witnessing such brutality, his eyes unable to escape the grisly tableau before him. And in a final, devastating act of cruelty, the Amentes delivered the fatal blow, extinguishing the last flicker of life from the wolf's eyes. Somewhere far from the scene Alden could here painful howling of other wolves who might have mind linked with their pack member a little too late. Despite the utter heartbreak of a scene infront of him Alden's mind was praying that his tormenters shouldn't find the other wolves through their painful howling.
Edward recoiled from the horror, his mind reeling from the sheer brutality of the scene. The imprinting bond had been torn apart, its fragments scattered amidst the carnage, forever staining Alden's soul with the indelible mark of loss. The memory would forever be etched in both their minds, a chilling reminder of the depths of cruelty that the Amentes clan was capable of.
In that moment, Edward's resolve solidified. The pain and torment inflicted upon Alden, the desecration of their sacred bond, ignited a furious fire within him. The Amentes clan would pay for their atrocities, their reign of terror would be brought to an end, and justice would be served for the fallen wolf and all those who had suffered at their hands.
Alden's grief overwhelmed him, his mind spiraling into the depths of darkness. His body shook with uncontrollable tremors, and his haunted eyes stared into an abyss of loss. The imprinting bond had been torn asunder, leaving him broken, haunted, and burdened with guilt. As the memories receded, Edward was left with a mix of emotions. The depth of Alden's trauma, the weight of his despair, was etched in every line on his face.
Edward's heart ached for his companion, for the pain he had endured and the scars that remained.Gently, Edward reached out, his hand resting on Alden's shoulder. He could sense the tremors running through Alden's body, the remnants of the torment he had witnessed. With a mixture of understanding and empathy, Edward whispered, "I'm sorry you had to endure such horrors, Alden. You don't have to face them alone anymore. We will find justice and bring an end to the Amentes clan's reign of cruelty."In that moment, Edward vowed to protect not only Jacob but also Alden, a soul wounded by the savagery of their shared enemies.
Together, they would seek solace, find strength, and forge a path toward redemption—a path that led not only to Zyane but also to healing the scars etched upon their spirits.
